Necessity & Pleasure
Mientras crecía, mis abuelas hacían ganchillo y tejían, y mi madre era una costurera experta y una reina astuta. Hecho a mano está en mi sangre. Mi abuela me enseñó a hacer ganchillo cuando era joven y jugaba con él de vez en cuando. De adulto, volví a retomarlo y me enamoré. Luego aprendí a tejer e hilar también. He estado diseñando profesionalmente desde principios de la década de 2000. Probablemente hayas visto parte de mi trabajo en revistas, libros, sitios web y para empresas de hilo. He disfrutado cada paso de mi viaje y estoy encantada de que me hayan traído hasta aquí.
Jugar con hilo es a la vez meditación y trabajo diario. Mi trabajo de diseño tanto en ganchillo como en punto es tanto una necesidad para mi ser como un placer.

Growing up, both of my grandmothers crocheted and knit and my mom was a skilled seamstress and all-around crafty queen. Handmade is in my blood. My Grandma taught me to crochet when I was young and I fiddled with it off and on. As an adult, I picked it up again and fell in love. I then learned to knit and spin, too. I’ve been professionally designing since the early 2000’s. You’ve likely seen some of my work in magazines, books, on websites and for yarn companies. I’ve enjoyed every step of my journey and am thrilled that they have led me here.
Playing with yarn is equal parts daily meditation and job. My design work in both crochet and knit is as much of necessity to my being as it is a pleasure.
