Art its what we do! And we love rust too!
Me llamo Erik y creé Rust Up Buttercup para mostrar mi arte en línea a través de mi canal de YouTube y, por supuesto, Etsy. Mi principal interés y pasión es el arte en metal. Me encanta moldear metal y soldar. Es asombroso cómo se pueden soldar dos piezas de metal y, en cuestión de minutos, obtener algo tan fuerte y sólido que resiste casi cualquier cosa. También es asombroso cómo, al oxidarse, el óxido adquiere una forma única e irrepetible. Es como si el arte adquiriera su propia huella digital.
No siempre me he dedicado al metal; también me encanta pintar. Mi técnica principal es el acrílico sobre lienzo, con algunas técnicas de aerografía. Me apasionaba la pintura y el arte, y tras graduarme en el instituto, decidí estudiar en el Instituto de Arte de Washington en Seattle, donde obtuve un título en Diseño Industrial. Actualmente, creo arte a través de mis obras en metal y, de vez en cuando, incorporo la pintura a mi estilo.
My name is Erik and I started Rust Up Buttercup as a way to showcase my art online through my YouTube channel and of coarse Etsy. My main focus and my passion is my metal art. I love forming metal and I love welding. Its amazing how you can weld two pieces of metal, and in a mater of minutes you have something so strong and solid that will hold up to almost anything. Its also amazing that when you start to rust the piece of metal the rust takes its own form, and you can never duplicate it no mater how hard you try. Its like the art takes on it's own fingerprint.
I have not always done metal, I love to paint as well. My median is acrylic on canvas with a side of airbrushing. I loved painting and art and after graduating high school I decided to attend the Art Institute of Washington Seattle where I earned a degree in Industrial Design. Now I create art through my metal art and still throw some painting it the mix when I can.
