Benvenuti da Static Light Jewelry. :)
Sono Hollyann Lewis, l'artigiana dietro il banco da lavoro. Sono originaria di una piccola città vicino a Boston, nel Massachusetts, ma ora creo nella soleggiata Florida del Sud. Sono mamma di due bambini, amo la musica (e sono ancora ossessionata dai My Chemical Romance), l'arte e tutto ciò che è un po' strano e inaspettato.
Ho iniziato a creare gioielli alla fine del 2023, dopo essermi imbattuta in un ciondolo e aver pensato: "Scommetto che potrei farne qualcosa di simile". Quella che era nata come un'idea regalo si è presto trasformata in un'ossessione, e da allora non ho più smesso di creare.
Ho iniziato con la tecnica dell'avvolgimento del filo metallico e continuerà sempre a far parte del mio lavoro, ma la lavorazione dei metalli è diventata la mia vera passione. L'argento è il mio materiale preferito, anche se amo ancora il calore del rame e la ricchezza dell'ottone, e continuerete a vederli tutti e tre nelle mie opere.
Ultimamente sono particolarmente attratto dalle forme astratte, dai dettagli insoliti, dalle forme architettoniche, dalle texture organiche e dagli imprevisti fortunati che si verificano a metà strada tra l'avere un progetto e l'abbandonarlo completamente. Non so sempre cosa diventerà un'opera quando inizio a realizzarla, e onestamente, questa è una delle parti che preferisco.
Mi rifornisco di metalli da fornitori di fiducia e di pietre principalmente da lapidari e piccoli venditori statunitensi, cercando di evitare materiali prodotti in serie e tagliati in condizioni di sfruttamento. Amo lavorare con pietre che hanno una propria personalità, soprattutto granati, labradoriti e le numerose e splendide diaspri e agate che si trovano negli Stati Uniti.
Quindi, perché la luce statica?
Il nome riflette il punto in cui mi trovo a livello creativo.
L'elettricità statica può distorcere e oscurare ciò che vedi. Ma quando scompare, tutto torna a fuoco.
Per me, questa è un'ottima metafora del processo di ricerca del mio stile personale: sperimentare, cambiare direzione, commettere errori, seguire idee strane e capire lentamente cosa mi rappresenta davvero.
E poi c'è la luce.
Sono sempre stato attratto dal modo in cui la luce interagisce con il metallo e la pietra: i riflessi, le ombre, le texture e i piccoli dettagli che cambiano a seconda di come si osserva un'opera.
Static Light riguarda quello spazio tra il rumore e la chiarezza.
La sperimentazione. L'imprevisto. Il processo di scoperta.
E, si spera, realizzando qualcosa di interessante lungo il percorso.

I’m Hollyann Lewis, the maker behind the bench. I’m originally from a small town outside of Boston, Massachusetts, but these days I’m creating from sunny South Florida. I’m a mom of two, a lover of music (who’s still overly obsessed with MCR), art, and all things a little strange and unexpected.
I started making jewelry in late 2023 after stumbling across a pendant and thinking, “I bet I could make something like that.” What started as a gift idea quickly turned into an obsession, and I haven’t stopped making since.
Wire wrapping was where I started, and it will always be part of my work, but metalsmithing has become my true passion. Silver is my preferred medium, though I still love the warmth of copper and the richness of brass, and you’ll continue to see all three make appearances in my work.
These days, I’m especially drawn to abstract forms, unusual details, architectural shapes, organic textures, and the happy accidents that happen somewhere between having a plan and completely abandoning it. I don’t always know what a piece is going to become when I start making it—and honestly, that’s one of my favorite parts.
I source my metals through trusted suppliers and my stones primarily from U.S.-based lapidaries and small sellers, doing my best to avoid mass-produced and sweatshop-cut materials. I love working with stones that have their own character, especially garnets, labradorites, and the many gorgeous jaspers and agates found throughout the United States.
So, why Static Light?
The name is a reflection of where I am creatively.
Static can distort and obscure what you’re seeing. But when it clears, everything comes into focus.
For me, that’s a pretty good metaphor for the process of finding my own style—experimenting, changing direction, making mistakes, following strange ideas, and slowly figuring out what feels like me.
And then there’s the light.
I’ve always been drawn to the way light interacts with metal and stone—the reflections, shadows, textures, and little details that change depending on how you see a piece.
Static Light is about that space between the noise and the clarity.
The experimenting. The unexpected. The process of figuring it out.
And, hopefully, making something interesting along the way.
Thank you for being here and for supporting handmade work. Every piece is designed and made by me, from my little South Florida studio, with a healthy amount of intention, curiosity, and probably some chaos.
