Hace varios años comencé a hacer golosinas caseras para perros sin conservantes para mis dos Labrador Retrievers. Mi laboratorio de chocolate, Cocoa, tenía 11 años en ese momento y tenía múltiples problemas de salud, incluyendo diabetes, glaucoma, presión arterial alta y, finalmente, reducción de la función renal. Con todos sus problemas de salud, nunca quise negarle un regalo. Several years ago I started making homemade, no preservative dog treats for my two Labrador Retrievers. My chocolate Lab, Cocoa, was 11 at the time and had multiple health issues, including diabetes, glaucoma, high blood pressure, and eventually reduced kidney function. With all of his health issues, I never wanted to deny him a treat. So I started researching and making treats that would be suitable for reduced kidney function, high blood pressure, and glucose sensitivity. During that time, there were numerous pet treat recalls and it seriously frightened me to think that I could lose my dog to a poorly made dog treat. That's when I decided to do something; I wanted to share our treats with other dogs. I only use fresh, high quality ingredients in all of my treats. All of my treats have been lab tested. These are what I feed my 'babies'. Cocoa has since passed, but I know that I gave him the best life possible. His legacy lives on in my treats. We now have a rescue Lab/hound, Colby, and a black Labrador Retriever, Daisy. They are my Quality Control Department-- the taste testers!! :-)
