Osiyo, I’m Justyne Eden. I grew up in Dewey, Oklahoma, and now live in Tahlequah. I’m a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation and a maker of modern earrings that blend humor, design, and culture into every piece.

I design all of my earrings digitally, using Adobe Illustrator, and cut them using a laser printer before finishing them by hand. Each piece is a combination of careful technique and creative play. Many of my ideas come to me while I’m driving or daydreaming—usually something that makes me laugh first. I’ve found that the pieces that make me smile often resonate most with others, too.

My work is heavily influenced by southeastern design and Cherokee culture. A big part of what I do is trying to fill a gap I see in our cultural landscape. I want to bring a fresh, modern perspective to Native art while still honoring the traditions that shape it. I see my work as a way to educate through creativity—to spark curiosity while celebrating identity.

Although I’m self-taught when it comes to tools and techniques, I’ve been fortunate to learn more about Cherokee cultural traditions from incredible mentors like Dan Mink, Lisa Rutherford, and Robert Lewis—Cherokee National Treasures, who inspire and inform the heart behind my work.

Creating gives me a sense of peace and purpose. I love learning, experimenting, and making things with my hands. There's something so satisfying about taking an idea from imagination to reality—and then seeing someone connect with it. When people receive one of my pieces, I hope they feel the joy and intentionality behind it. Every design is created with humor, care, and cultural grounding.

To me, art is about connection—between past and present, artist and wearer, laughter and tradition—and I’m honored to be a part of that story.



About the Indigenous Artisans Collective

Etsy and Nest are proud to support the Indigenous Artisans Collective, the latest cohort within the Etsy Uplift Makers Program, featuring shops from Indigenous makers affiliated with 27 tribes across the United States and the First Nations of Canada.

Many of the makers practice craft skills that have been inspired by or passed down from family and community mentors. Product collections include meticulously handcrafted home goods, jewelry, and other accessories, in honor of the maker’s culture and heritage. Amongst many Indigenous communities, traditional handcraft continues to hold significant cultural value, as well as economic opportunity.

Through the Uplift Makers: Indigenous Artisans Collective, Etsy and Nest are helping to create digital market access and economic opportunities for Indigenous makers while also providing artisans with resources and tools to help run a successful online business. From expert-led digital marketing training, onboarding support, and a custom resource library, the program delivers a comprehensive suite of programming to participants. Additionally, the program addresses key barriers new business owners face such as providing professional photography to capture the creative content needed to showcase their talent and reach new customers in today’s digital era.
