3d Printing for Fun and a Little Profit
Hace casi diez años conseguí un kit de impresora 3D, lo construí y comencé a aprender a diseñar las cosas que necesitaba para poder imprimirlas. Con el tiempo dejé de usar tanto la impresora, pero seguía funcionando cuando la necesitaba (normalmente con un poco de recalibración después de limpiar el polvo). Finalmente, llegó el punto en que la calibración y los ajustes no eran suficientes para obtener una impresión exitosa y llegó el momento de actualizar. Compré una Prusa Mini y, de repente, las impresiones eran de mucha mejor calidad e incluso exitosas de manera constante.
Una vez superado ese obstáculo, comencé a pensar que otras personas podrían apreciar algunos de los fidgets u otras cosas que había hecho para mí, así que abrí mi tienda Etsy para compartir mis creaciones y financiar mi pasatiempo (o al menos justificar el pedido de suministros en grandes cantidades).
Con excepción del engranaje, todo lo que vendo lo modelé y diseñé desde cero. Me he diversificado un poco con el modelado 3D porque yo (o mi familia) hemos necesitado otras cosas, por lo que es posible que con el tiempo aparezcan otros tipos de artículos.
Almost ten years ago I got a 3d printer kit, built it, and started learning to design the things I needed so I could print them. Over time I stopped using the printer as much, but it still worked when I needed it (usually with a bit of re-calibrating after I wiped the dust off). Finally it hit the point where calibration and tweaking wasn't enough to get a successful print and the time came to upgrade. I got a Prusa Mini, and suddenly prints were much better quality and even consistently successful!
With that roadblock cleared I began to think that other people might appreciate some of the fidgets or other things I'd made for myself, so I opened my Etsy shop to share my creations and fund my hobby (or at least justify ordering supplies in larger quantities).
With the exception of the gear bearing everything I sell I modeled/designed from scratch. I've branched out a little from 3d modeling as I (or my family) have needed other things, so other types of items may creep in over time.
