Classical Beauty in All of Us

Hi, My name is Barbara Sniegula. I am a designer of functional and artistic ceramics. I create my art from porcelain and stoneware. On some projects I work with Anna Bittner from handverk ceramics. Our inspiration is the human being, our metamorphoses and relationships with our surroundings.
Fluid substance demands form and I strive to uncover that form, name it and preserve it. This preservation of fluidity is like a moment captured in time, defining it and transforming it at the same time. Creativity is the result of desire, it stimulates the birth of a new world, a new story, a new history. In designing, I want to underscore the aesthetic importance of all the things we surround ourselves and meet with. Every moment is unique in that it will never be repeated. Every object has a greater value because of its unique character. In an era of mass production, a fresh take on an object is needed, a fresh way of looking at the particular essence it contains within and at the story that will unfold as it passes from hand to hand.
