Es beginnt mit einem Gedanken, dann folgt der Entwurf, die Gestaltung und Formgebung, 7 Tage Trocknen, Schrühen, Glasieren, 16 Stunden Brennen und Abkühlen. Die Vorfreude, endlich einen warmen Ofen zu öffnen und zu sehen, welche Überraschungen die schelmischen Ofengötter Ihren Kreationen beschert haben, fühlt sich fast wie Weihnachten an. Es stellt sich ein Gefühl der Dankbarkeit und Überraschung ein und es macht so viel Freude, wenn Ihre Erwartungen übertroffen werden.
All das und noch viel mehr sind der Grund, warum ich dieses Handwerk so liebe. Ich umgebe mich mit Dingen, die mir Freude bereiten, und ich hoffe, dass ich auch anderen dieselbe Freude bereiten kann. Ich glaube, dass die beruhigende Atmosphäre, die durch natürliche Materialien und traditionelles Handwerk entsteht, von unschätzbarem Wert ist und ein Schlüsselelement zur Verbesserung der Lebensqualität darstellt.

It starts with a thought, then the design, the shaping and forming, 7 day drying, bisquing, glazing, 16 hour firing and cooling. The anticipation of finally opening a warm kiln to see what surprises the mischievous Kiln Gods bestowed upon your creations almost feels like Christmas. There’s a sense of gratitude and surprise and so much joy when your expectations are exceeded.
All of this, and so much more, is why I’m passionate about this craft. I surround myself with things that bring me happiness and I hope to provide that same joy to others. I believe that the comforting ambiance created by natural materials and traditional crafts is invaluable, and a key element in enhancing quality of life.
