Life's Little Surprises
Si me hubieran dicho hace 15 años que me convertiría en diseñadora gráfica, ¡me habría reído! ¡Es increíble cómo pueden cambiar las cosas! De día, soy logopeda y trabajo con niños. Disfruto de mi trabajo y lo encuentro muy gratificante, pero el diseño gráfico se ha convertido en algo que también AMO. Es mi alivio del estrés, mi escape creativo y una gran salida para mi mente siempre ocupada. Crear diseños que a la gente le gusten es importante para mí y, honestamente, me da alegría.
Mi entrada en el mundo del diseño gráfico es el resultado de mi trabajo favorito: ser madre. Cuando mi hijo mayor era pequeño, siempre hacía sus invitaciones de cumpleaños y cosas para sus fiestas. Cuanto más trabajaba en sus fiestas, más me enamoraba del proceso del diseño gráfico. Cuando miro hacia atrás y veo mis primeros diseños, me estremezco... pero también estoy agradecida por esos diseños que no eran precisamente estelares. Fueron peldaños que me ayudaron a mejorar y aprender. Todavía estoy tratando de mejorar y aprender. ¡Es un proceso que nunca termina!
Uno de mis versículos favoritos es Proverbios 3:5-6: “Confía en el Señor con todo tu corazón, y no te apoyes en tu propia prudencia; Reconócelo en todos tus caminos, y él enderezará tus veredas”. ¡El Camino del Pergamino recibe su nombre de este versículo bíblico!
If you'd told me 15 years ago that I would become a graphic designer, I would have laughed at you! It's amazing how things can change! By day, I am a speech-language pathologist that works with children. I enjoy my job and find it very rewarding, but graphic design has become something that I also LOVE. It's my stress relief, creative escape, and a great outlet for my ever-busy mind. Creating designs that people enjoy is important to me and honestly brings me joy.
My entrance into graphic design is a result of my favorite job of all -- being a mom. When my oldest son was little, I always made his birthday invitations and things for his parties. The more I worked on his parties, the more I fell in love with the process of graphic design. When I look back at my first designs, I cringe....but I also am thankful for those less than stellar designs. They were stepping stones to help me improve and learn. I am still trying to improve and learn. It's a never-ending process!
One of my favorite verses is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Parchment Path gets its name from this Bible verse!
