Hi, I’m Amanda — the pharmacy technician, educator, and coffee lover behind Pharm Tech Mentor. ☕💊
My pharmacy journey started more than 20 years ago when I applied for a job at Walmart and, funny enough, didn’t even realize my interview was for the pharmacy. What began as simply needing a steady job turned into a career I genuinely love.
Over the years, I’ve worked in different areas of pharmacy, earned my national certification, taught future pharmacy technicians, and helped students prepare to enter the profession. When I took the PTCE, I earned the top scaled score of 1600 — but some of my proudest moments have come from helping someone who felt overwhelmed finally say, “I get it now.”
That feeling is exactly why I created Pharm Tech Mentor.
Pharmacy can feel like learning an entirely new language. SIG codes, calculations, medications, laws, insurance, abbreviations — there’s a lot coming at you at once. I create practical, easy-to-understand resources that break those complicated topics into manageable pieces.
Whether you’re studying for the PTCE, beginning your first pharmacy technician job, brushing up on skills, or teaching the next generation of technicians, my goal is to give you resources that are useful in the real world — not just another stack of information to memorize.
