Wer hat gesagt, dass Schlamm unordentlich ist?
Whoever said mud is messy?
Ton ist im Wesentlichen ...... Schlamm. Und ja, es ist chaotisch, aber ich denke nie daran, dass es schmutzig ist, es ist irgendwie nur ein Teil dessen, wer ich bin. Die meisten Töpfer laufen mit mindestens einem kleinen Fleck davon irgendwo auf ihrer Person herum, selbst wenn wir gekleidet sind, um in unserer "guten" Kleidung in die Öffentlichkeit zu gehen, können wir irgendwie nicht an einem laufenden Stück Arbeit vorbeigehen und nicht diese eine Stelle berühren, von der wir gerade bemerkt haben, dass sie jetzt geglättet werden muss, bevor sie zu trocken wird.
Ich habe "Assistenten"... Mr. Big Ornery Cat, Little Miss Potbelly Cat und ein frecher jüngeres Kätzchen auch. Das ist so ziemlich derjenige, mit dem ich tagsüber spreche.
Ich bin zum größten Teil Autodidakt und wenn ich dazu bereit bin, experimentiere und übergehe ich ständig in Stil, Form und Form, probiere verschiedene Tone aus, mische neue Glasurrezepte und mache sogar gelegentlich Lagerfeuer.

"Ich bin handgemacht" und stolz darauf, es zu sagen. Es gibt keine Massenproduktion in meinem Studio. Jedes einzelne Stück, das ich mache, wird mit meinen eigenen zwei Händen, meinen vier Augen und viel Herz und Seele gemacht. Fügen Sie ein paar einfache Werkzeuge hinzu, manchmal meine Töpferscheibe und manchmal eine Plattenwalze und Kreationen sind geboren.
Clay is essentially ...... mud. And yes it's messy, but I never think of it as dirty, it's sort of just a part of who I am. Most potters walk around with at least one small smudge of it somewhere on their person, even when dressed to go out in public in our ''good'' clothes, we somehow cannot walk by a piece of work in progress and not touch that one spot which we just noticed needs to be smoothed out right now before it gets too dry.
I have "assistants"...mr. big ornery cat, little miss potbelly cat and a naughty younger kitty too. That's pretty much who I talk to during the day.
I am for the most part, self taught and when up to it, I am ever experimenting and transitioning in style, shape and form, trying out different clays, mixing new glaze recipes and even doing an occassional campfire firing.

"I am handmade" and proud to say it. There are no mass produced pieces in my studio. Each and every piece I make, is made with my own two hands, my four eyes and a lot of heart and soul. Add in a few simple tools, sometimes my potters wheel and sometimes a slab roller and creations are born.
