FUSHI Material Studio is based in Hida-Takayama, Japan.

I work with natural materials such as wood and vegetable-tanned leather, exploring traditional knowledge and quiet material culture rooted in Japanese craft.

Some materials come directly from the process of solid wood furniture making, while others are prepared through small-scale experiments and observation.

Rather than finished products, many of these items are offered as materials — inviting makers to explore their own relationship with wood, leather, and natural surfaces.
