Mi esibisco come drag king con regolarità da oltre 6 anni ed è stato un viaggio incredibile. Esibirmi è stato una parte fondamentale della mia vita fin da quando ero piccolo e ho sempre saputo che sarei finito sul palco: la parte entusiasmante è che lo faccio con un trucco scintillante e la barba! My name is Andrew Genius (he/they), and I am a former King of Metro East Pride 2024, Sexy Jesus of St. Louis 2023, Mr. Fire and Brimstone 2022, Mr. Midwest Esquire 2021, and Drag Idol 2021. I have been performing as a drag king consistently for over 6 years now, and it has been an incredible journey. Performance has been a major part of my life since I was young, and I always knew I would end up on the stage-- the exciting part is that it's with glittery makeup and a beard! My goal within the drag community is to demonstrate and encourage all types of gender expression and art because gender is a spectrum that should be showcased and supported onstage and off.
