I am an Artist
Since I was a little girl art has been a big part of my life. I won coloring and drawing contests all the time throughout grade school. My dream was to go off to college to study to be an art teacher but was consistently talked out of it. I was told I couldn't make money, art teachers were losing their jobs, no one would buy my art, and I'd be starving.
Fast forward 20 years later, I took a course working with a life coach (don't knock it) where I shared that I felt like an imposter when I told people I painted because I'm not professionally trained and I've taught myself what I know. Our final project required us to share something that felt vulnerable so I shared my paintings that I created over the pandemic. I came out of that class with a customer and the encouragement to keep going, that my work was good and to keep sharing it with the world.
Fast forward another year, I now call myself a painter and I've decided to put my paintings out into the world for sale and allowing myself to believe that I can make money through art too.
Moral of this story is show up as your authentic self and the life you want to live will unfold.
