An Artist's Story
Esta tienda se creó simplemente para ofrecer bellas artes de calidad, artículos de cuero vintage y algunas otras piezas cuidadosamente seleccionadas que me pueden gustar. Siendo un ávido coleccionista, nunca puedo resistirme a comprar algo que me llame la atención.
Me formé como ilustrador, todavía trabajando a través de un agente en los campos de publicidad / publicación que me ha proporcionado algunos contactos maravillosos para adquirir arte que me gusta. ¡Un privilegio poder ganarme la vida haciendo algo que amo y me apasiona y desearía que todos pudieran hacer lo mismo!
Los tiempos han cambiado para la búsqueda y compra de arte, ya que particularmente muchos coleccionistas internacionales tienen más confianza para obtener, encontrar y comprar obras en línea en lugar de la actividad que consume mucho tiempo de viajar a galerías en persona o usar casas de subastas. Puede que Etsy aún no sea el primer lugar al que acude la gente para encontrar arte fino y decorativo de calidad, a menudo con algunos nombres de primera línea, pero yo y otros estamos notando un repunte en el tipo de consultas que recibimos con respecto a las piezas más caras, ya que los coleccionistas se dan cuenta de que un comerciante de arte en línea no tiene los gastos generales financieros a los que está sujeta una galería física en una dirección de moda. Obvio pero a veces olvidado. El arte original se puede presentar y ver en pantallas digitales adecuadamente bien en estos días, por lo que la necesidad de ver algo en persona tiene menos influencia que antes. Si una obra se ve atractiva en la pantalla, ¡es excepcionalmente raro que se vea menos impresionante en la realidad!
Una galería de arte comercial vende principalmente obras de artistas que se han ganado un cierto estatus, lo que significa que su nombre tiene un precio (el juego del nombre). También he comprado obras de algunos artistas 'Blue Chip', pero de vez en cuando veo trabajos de buena calidad no atribuidos por personas que son imposibles de investigar pero de un alto nivel, a veces mejor calidad que un nombre más establecido. Ofrezco grandes obras de arte, a veces piezas no atribuidas junto con el trabajo de artistas "nombrados" porque se puede disfrutar igualmente y tiene un gran mérito.
El instinto profesional a menudo me dice que una obra debe ser de la mano de un artista de cierta categoría, pero el tiempo no siempre permite una investigación exhaustiva, por lo que siempre la precio en consecuencia.
El cuero de calidad y los artículos vintage de buen gusto siempre han sido irresistibles. Ofrezco a la venta algunos grandes ejemplos de fabricantes cuyos productos me gustan si están en las mejores condiciones posibles y libres de humo. A menudo me piden que obtenga piezas vintage de equipaje, bolsos y arte para la producción cinematográfica junto con artículos editoriales de revistas, lo que siempre es desafiante pero gratificante.

This shop was set up simply to offer quality Fine Art, Vintage leather items and a few carefully selected other pieces I may like. Being an avid collector, I can never resist buying something which catches my eye.
I trained as an illustrator, still working through an Agent in the Advertising/Publishing fields which has provided me with some wonderful contacts to acquire art I like. A privilege to be able to earn a living doing something I love and am passionate about and I wish everyone was able to do the same!
Times have changed for sourcing and buying art as particularly many International collectors are more confident to source, find and purchase works online rather than the time consuming activity of travelling to galleries in person or using Auction houses. Etsy may not yet be the first place people go to for finding quality fine and decorative art Art, often by some blue chip names, but I and others are noticing an upturn in the kind of enquiries we receive regarding the more expensive pieces as collectors realize an online art dealer does not have the financial overheads a physical gallery at a fashionable address is subject to. Obvious but sometimes forgotten. Original art can be presented and viewed on digital screens adequately well these days so the need to see something in person holds less sway than it once did. If a work looks appealing on screen, it is exceptionally rare for it to look less impressive in reality!
A Commercial Art Gallery mostly sells work by artists who have earned a certain status meaning their name commands a price (The name game). I have purchased works by some 'Blue Chip' artists too but from time to time I see good quality unattributed work by people who are impossible to research yet of a high standard, sometimes better quality than a more established name. I offer great art, sometimes unattributed pieces alongside the work of 'named' artists because it can be enjoyed equally and has great merit.
Professional instinct often tells me a work must be by the hand of an artist of some standing but time does not always allow comprehensive research so I always price it accordingly.
Quality leather and tasteful vintage items have always been irresistible. I offer for sale some great examples from makers whose products I like if they are in the best possible condition and smoke free. I am often called upon to source vintage pieces of luggage, handbags and art for film production alongside magazine editorial features which is always challenging but rewarding.
