A maker, making.
Mi nombre es Grace. Soy un artista y artesano del noreste de Ohio. He estado creando desde que tengo memoria. Mis manos siempre han estado ocupadas. Cuando era niño, siempre tenía algún tipo de proyecto que hacer, desde cavar arcilla del arroyo detrás de mi casa para trabajar en pequeñas esculturas hasta combinar todo mi vestidor.
Este no es mi primer intento de dirigir una tienda de Etsy. Making Useless Things se creó en 2011 cuando tenía un excedente de artículos tejidos a mano que estaba tratando de vender. Era un negocio al que volvía una y otra vez, siempre centrada en mis creaciones de tejido o costura. Si lo sabías entonces, bienvenido de nuevo. Estoy tan feliz de que todavía estés aquí.
Esta vez, sin embargo, estoy probando algo nuevo. Me estoy embarcando en una nueva aventura compartiendo mi obra de arte con el mundo. Estoy aquí para fallar, aprender y, con suerte, bendecirte con algo hermoso que te traiga alegría.
Actualmente, trabajo a tiempo completo como florista de bodas. Mi trabajo es una gran fuente de inspiración para mi obra de arte. La floristería ha despertado un nuevo interés en el tinte natural. Es un nuevo espacio creativo realmente emocionante para explorar.
Algunos datos divertidos sobre mí: Mi esposo y yo vivimos en Okinawa, Japón durante 3 años, fue una experiencia realmente increíble. Tenemos dos gatos queridos, Ed y Ein, y nos traen mucha felicidad todos los días.

My name is Grace. I am an artist and crafter from Northeast Ohio. I have been creating for as long as I can remember. My hands have always been busy. As a kid, I always had some sort of project to do, from digging clay out of the creek behind my house to work into tiny sculptures to collaging my entire walk-in closet.
This is not my first attempt at running an Etsy shop. Making Useless Things was created back in 2011 when I had a surplus of hand-knitted items that I was trying to sell. It was a business that I would come back to again and again, always focused on my knitting or sewing creations. If you knew of it then, welcome back. I am so happy you are still here.
This time though, I am trying something new. I am embarking on a new adventure by sharing my artwork with the world. I am here to fail, learn, and hopefully bless you with something beautiful that brings you joy.
Currently, I work full-time as a wedding florist. My job is a huge source of inspiration for my artwork. Floristry has piqued a new interest in natural dye. It is a really exciting new creative space to explore.
A few fun facts about me: My husband and I lived in Okinawa, Japan for 3 years, it was a truly incredible experience. We have two darling cats, Ed and Ein, and they bring us such happiness every day.
