Eu vivo e respiro essas cores, pois elas são a sequência básica de cores dos padrões dos nativos americanos. Mas há outras cores para explorar, e procuro fazê-las também.
Pensei em fazer esse tipo de joia muitos anos antes de realmente fazer uma. Tenho ancestrais nativos americanos e sempre adorei qualquer coisa que parecesse nativa americana. Um dia eu estava na loja W, na seção de artesanato, e com o canto do olho avistei um tear de contas. Eu olhei para ele e coloquei de volta. Ao me afastar, disse a mim mesmo: “Sabe, se não comprar aquele tear agora, vai querer voltar e comprá-lo mais tarde”. Então, eu acertei. Algumas semanas depois, investi em um tear maior e melhor e finalmente comecei com o Etsy. Desde então, aprendi muito com outras pessoas que fazem padrões de nativos americanos e estou sempre vasculhando a internet em busca de inspiração. I live and breathe these colors as they are the basic color sequence for Native American patterns. But there are other colors to explore, and I try to do them too.
I thought about making this type of jewelry many years before I actually made one. I have Native American ancestors and I always loved anything that looked Native American. One day I was in the W store in the craft section and out of the corner of my eye I spotted a bead loom. I looked at it and put it back. As I walked away, I said to myself, "You know if you don't buy that loom now, you will want to come back and get it later." So, I got it right then. A few weeks later I invested in a bigger, better loom and eventually started up with Etsy. Since then, I have learned a lot from other people who make Native American patterns, and I am always scouring the internet for inspiration.
