What is a "paper violet"?
Before I tell you what a paper violet is - let me tell you a little about myself. I live outside of Philadelphia, PA, with my wonderful husband, Steve, our amazing son and our sweet baby girl. I have a BFA in Graphic Design from Temple University's Tyler School of Art. I love Halloween, scary movies, warm chocolate chip cookies and rainy days. I type how I talk & I judge books by their cover.
Paper Violet Designs was founded because of my love for typography, design & meeting new people. I decided to open my shop after my son was born & ultimately, it gave me the opportunity to work from home, be with my kids and build my small business into something I am really proud of. My kids are truly my inspiration. Their smiles drive me to be an example for them to do what they love each and every day. One day, I will show them what I've done & I hope to inspire them as much as they inspire me.
I love planning parties down to the smallest detail. I started by designing invitations & stationery for friends, their friends & friends of their friends! I designed every detail of my Halloween-themed Murder Mystery wedding. My son was still in my belly when I started planning his baptism & party and I'm not going to lie, no matter what time of year you are reading this, I am probably planning our October babies' joint birthday party!
My studio space is small; but, it's mine & I love it. I collect paper samples, hoard fonts & love mixing patterns. I use polka dots & stripes every chance I get! Since starting my shop, I have created a greeting card line & began to wholesale to brick & mortars around the country, which once only seemed like a daydream to me. I truly love what I do & look forward to starting new projects.
So, what is a "paper violet"? My Etsy shop’s name combines my two very favorite design elements - paper & purple! It represents all things that are pretty to me! After spending countless hours of brainstorming with my mom to come up with a business name, Paper Violet Designs was created! So, a "paper violet" is whatever you want it to be: an invitation, illustration, greeting card or those small party details...anything!
