Sempre adoramos usar a sauna, especialmente depois de um treino pesado ou um longo dia de trabalho. Para mim, tornou-se mais do que apenas relaxamento — eu costumava meditar na sauna da minha academia local por cerca de 20 minutos. No entanto, um problema sempre me incomodou: o ressecamento do meu couro cabeludo. Enquanto meu couro cabeludo suava, meu cabelo ficava seco, crespo e quebradiço. Tentei enrolar toalhas ou panos em volta da minha cabeça para proteger meu cabelo, e foi quando notei algo interessante. Quando meu cabelo estava protegido do calor, ele ficava mais macio e saudável depois. Meu couro cabeludo suava mais efetivamente, e meu cabelo ficava macio e flexível. Foi quando a ideia me ocorreu!
Comecei a procurar soluções no mercado, mas tudo o que consegui encontrar foram chapéus que ainda expunham o cabelo ao calor. Com base em anos de experiência em ciência dos materiais e na compreensão dos efeitos do calor e do isolamento, decidi criar algo melhor. Foi assim que o SaunaCaps nasceu. Passei um tempo testando diferentes materiais com amigos, frequentadores de academia e outras pessoas do meu círculo para garantir que fosse eficaz, seguro (não alergênico), fácil de limpar e, o mais importante, capaz de manter o calor longe do cabelo.
Desde o lançamento há cerca de cinco anos, enviamos dezenas de milhares de SaunaCaps para pessoas em todo o mundo. É incrível ver como pessoas comuns como eu agora podem aproveitar totalmente suas sessões de sauna sem comprometer a saúde dos cabelos!
We’ve always loved using the sauna, especially after a tough workout or a long day at work. For me, it became more than just relaxation—I would often meditate in the sauna at my local gym for about 20 minutes. However, one issue always bothered me: the dryness of my scalp. While my scalp would sweat, my hair would become dry, frizzy, and brittle. I tried wrapping towels or cloth around my head to protect my hair, and that’s when I noticed something interesting. When my hair was shielded from the heat, it felt softer and healthier afterward. My scalp would sweat more effectively, and my hair was left feeling smooth and supple. That’s when the idea struck me!
I started looking for solutions on the market, but all I could find were hats that still exposed hair to heat. Drawing on years of experience in materials science and understanding the effects of heat and insulation, I decided to create something better. That’s how SaunaCaps was born. I spent time testing different materials with friends, gym-goers, and others in my circle to ensure it was effective, safe (non-allergenic), easy to clean, and—most importantly—capable of keeping heat away from the hair.
Since launching about five years ago, we’ve shipped tens of thousands of SaunaCaps to people all over the world. It’s been amazing to see how regular folks like me can now fully enjoy their sauna sessions without compromising their hair health!
