I miei primi ricordi legati al cucito e al bricolage risalgono a quando avevo cinque o sei anni, quando mia nonna metteva un tavolo in soggiorno dove io e mia sorella creavamo all'infinito. Lavorava in un posto chiamato Palette Party Shop, il negozio di bricolage degli anni Sessanta. Portava a casa perline, spilli, polistirolo, feltro, colla, e chi più ne ha più ne metta!
Fu più o meno in quel periodo che mia madre iniziò a dedicarsi seriamente al cucito. Mi conservava i suoi ritagli e io realizzavo cose divertenti come borse, cuscini e vestiti per Barbie. Quando ero piccola, Barbie non aveva tutte le cose che ha ora, aveva solo vestiti e scarpe. Non la mia Barbie, aveva la casa più bella di sempre! Le facevo il letto, il divano, le tende, i tavoli, ecc.
Ovviamente, sono successe molte cose dalla mia infanzia negli anni Sessanta a oggi. Molti dei miei modelli sono stati pubblicati in numerosi libri e riviste, e sono disponibili qui e su internet. Non riesco proprio a smettere di disegnare, e non ho intenzione di farlo a breve.

My earliest memories of sewing and crafting was when I was five or six and my grandma would put up a table in her living room where my sister and I would create forever. She worked at a place called the Palette Party Shop, it was the craft store of the sixties. She would bring home beads, pins, styrofoam, felt, glue, you name it!
It was about that time that my mom started doing some serious sewing. She'd save me her scraps and I made fun things like purses, pillows, and Barbie clothes. Back when I was growing up Barbie didn't have all the stuff she has now, all she had was clothes and shoes. Not my Barbie, she had the best house ever! I made her bed, couch, curtains, tables, etc.
Obviously, a lot has happened between my childhood in the sixties and today. Many of my patterns have been published in numerous books and magazines, as well as available to you here and all over the Internet. I just can't stop designing, and I don't plan on it anytime soon.
