I call this fellow "Sylacris", a wall-mounted dragon bust sculpture kit, cast in durable urethane resin, ready for you to assemble and paint however you imagine it! A great piece for model makers and dragon aficionados. I created the original sculpture in oil-based clay, made a mold of the pieces, and cast each one by hand. The sculpture comes out just over 1 foot (~31 cm) from the wall, and the base is 8 inches (~20 cm) in diameter.

The dragon I sculpted is a tough old beast, with sharp fangs protruding from his lips and a scar across the scales of his muzzle. You can assemble and paint him as-is, or let your imagination run wild adding things like gems, fur, or kit-bashing him with additional pieces you either find or sculpt yourself!

The base, which resembles crumbled stone and is cast as a solid piece, is now an optional add-on, in case you want to attach the dragon to a different plaque or even directly to the wall!

CAST OPTIONS

You can choose from these options for the cast pieces:

- Raw cast vs cleaned-up: A raw cast is straight out of the mold with minimal cleanup. There will be some flashing and the edges may be sharp. A raw cast will require you to do some sanding and cleanup before use. You can also choose the cleaned-up option, where we take care of removing all of the flashing and sanding the edges clean and smooth.

This is a made-to-order piece, meaning that once I receive your order, you are added to my casting queue. The processing time (before shipping) for this item is 1-2 weeks.

The kit comes with the following:

- 1 Dragon head piece, cast hollow and foam-filled
- 1 OPTIONAL rocky base piece, cast solid - includes 1 black felt back piece
- 2 horns, cast hollow
- 2 white plastic eye pieces (12mm flat-back eyes or cabochons would also fit if you want to get creative!)
- 1 keyhole hanger with 2 screws (holes in the resin are pre-drilled)
- Instruction guide

You will need to provide:

- Standard Phillips-head screwdriver (normal screwdriver with a cross head)
- Glue (See recommendations below and in the instruction guide)
- Paint (See recommendations below and in the instruction guide)
- Wall mounting screw
- Optional: There will be small gaps where the pieces fit together. You can use epoxy putty to fill these if you wish.

The assembled sculpture weighs about 1 lb (0.45 kg) without the base piece, or 2.5 lbs (1.13 kg) with the base piece. Make sure the wall mounting method you use can hold that weight.

Glue recommendations:
Superglue (look for types that say CA or cyanoacrylate) works great for bonding resin parts, as does 2-part epoxy. Hot glue can also be used.

Painting recommendations:
I typically recommend starting with a spray primer rated for use on plastics, and then do detail work with acrylic paints. You can also finish up with a spray sealant in matte or gloss, whichever suits your creative vision best!

To be able to cast in black, I need to make a special kind of mold that allows me to cast it in a pressure pot. Unfortunately, not every piece is able to be turned into this kind of mold.

Certain pieces that I cast using a rotocasting technique (some horns, the dragon wall mount, seashells, and original-style masks) cannot be cast in black at this time.

I absolutely love this mesh!!! It’s perfect for any mask if you wanna darken the eye holes!!! I used it on my ghost face mask and it worked like a charm and the application was pretty easy!!!
