Red, gold and green ' Rasta ' themed wood turned wine bottle stopper.
Each wine stopper I make starts it's life as between 65 and 75 pieces of dyed, hand cut tulipwood veneer. The pieces of veneer are then carefully arranged into the desired colour sequence and meticulously bonded together using a combination of a cross grain plying technique and the best two part epoxy adhesive available (West System).
Once the block has fully cured, it is hand turned to the desired shape before being hand finished with a durable and resilient melamine based coating.
The final part of the process it to give the finish a coat of microcrystalline wax (which helps to prevent the build up of finger marks), and then attach the metal 'stopper' section and the decorative stainless steel end cap. I only use highest quality 60g metal stoppers which give an overall feeling in the hand of a heavy, solid, well crafted piece.
The red, gold and green veneers, combined with the gold coloured stopper section and end cap, makes this wine stopper perfect for any party, celebration, or carnival....simply open up a cold one and crank up the Marley !!!
