The designs shown in this tutorial were inspired by the images one may see under a microscope: plant and animal cells, pollen grains, insect eggs, etc.
All these designs are based on the same concept as a honeycomb. A honeycomb is one of strongest structures in nature, despite the thin walls of its cells. I am using the same idea, except that the shape of the cells is different for each pendant.
This tutorial includes 30 pages of step-by-step instructions with helpful tips and nearly 70 detailed pictures. A separate section is devoted to possible errors and how to fix or avoid them. I also included a section with additional tips for working with polymer clay in white and other light colors.
All designs shown in the first picture of this listing are explained in this tutorial. I will also show you how to form the pendants with and without polymer clay background and how to assemble these pendants into a simple yet impressive necklace.
The pendants in color shown in the 4-th picture are not covered in this tutorial; I am showing them here just to demonstrate the possibilities of this technique.
No special tools or materials are needed for this project, except for a hemisphere form to shape your pendants on. For this purpose, you can use an old light bulb (as demonstrated in the tutorial) or get a metal concave/convex form.
