I wheel throw a bowl on the wheel and then hand alter and sculpt a unique one of a kind face. The yarn hole can come out of the nose or through the teeth. I also put a yarn guide in the back.
They certainly make a great piece for a gift (hint) or to add to your collection (hint).
I will create a lovely (okay, maybe, a not so lovely) home decor accent piece for your shelf, counter top or table. This yarn bowl will be a great size to hold just about anything... within reason. This bowl can be used as a serving bowl for chips or other dry goods, fruit bowl, candy bowl, change catcher... the list goes on and on and on. In fact, you can use this bowl for many different things.
However, it is made as a yarn bowl to hold that ball of yarn. I have been told they also make great string holders.
Each bowl comes with a name & a birth certificate.
When you make your purchase, leave a comment in the "note to seller" and let me know the following:
yarn through the nose or the mouth
horns or no horns
tongue or no tongue
teeth or no teeth
some teeth choices: sharp teeth, tusks, under bight, missing teeth, buck teeth
some eye choices: large eyes, small eyes, crossed eyes, eye color, cyclops, animal eyes, eye lashes
some over all choices: happy, sad, goofy, zombie, distorted, troll,
male or female
color preferences (the placement of each item in the kiln may effect how the glaze turns out)
I have included several photos of different yarn bowls that I have created to give you an idea of what you can choose from, or to give you idea of the possibilities. But remember each one is unique and cannot be recreated exactly. You can state a choice by saying the number of the bowl. These pictures are just a few of the many options. You may ask me to create your yarn bowl to be similar to one of the photos above or to one of the photos in my past sold photos.
I have a Facebook group page called The Art of Lucky Stradley. Please feel free to join my page. I always post the newest items as they come out of the kiln there first. What is not purchased there os loaded onto my Etsy store. So there are many photos there to inspire you.
Snotty Oliver is the name of the yarn bowl the Kim Connor Olson posted of the yarn bowl that I did for her that has gone viral. He is also #23 in the photos above. You can ask for a Snotty Oliver bowl and choose your color - if you prefer something other than turquoise.

My husband says there are too many faces in our studio. It makes him nervous. And the neighbors (all 50 of them) keep asking..." When are you ever going to make something pretty?" I answer... "This is as pretty as it gets." If you are the one to adopt this cute fella, you will have Something Lucky.
Everything we sell is produced in our studio in Hubbell, NE (population...52). Our stoneware is wheel thrown, hand altered and sculpted, fired to cone 5/6 and finished by hand one piece at a time. Every piece is an Original One OF A Kind. Teeth, eyes and most horns are created out of porcelain clay. All of our work is safe for food use and all of our glazes are lead-free and non-toxic. Once your get your new favorite piece in your very own hands, you can use it in a microwave, a dishwasher... even your oven( always put in a cold oven, not a preheated oven)!
