Stained saddle brown with leather dye, this gourd bowl is 10" in diameter and 4.75" tall. Danish Cord dyed to match the gourd is coiled at the rim using Irish waxed linen thread. The colors of the thread match the multi-colored ribbon wrapping the base cord at the top and bottom of the coiling in shades of teal, gold, green and rust.. The shape created by the coiling mirrors the shape of the gourd bowl giving the overall piece a "flying saucer" shape. The interior is painted Teal blue and sealed to a high shine with acrylic sealer. The embellishment on the front is a teal blue agate slice wrapped with copper craft wire. Ends of the wire are curled and spread out to a tree of life shape and feature matching teal rock chip beads.
