Ann Elizabeth Scott is a life-long artist who has created art since childhood. She went to school to become a professional artist and has furthered her art education in many different art mediums, including digital, and has degrees in fine art and graphic design. She graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle just as graphic design was entering the digital realm. Rather than becoming an art director, like so many of her peers, Ann Elizabeth chose to explore the world of fine art.
She has explored almost every aspect of art and illustration, but found her favorite medium, oil on canvas, shortly after she graduated from design school. When her children were small, one of her teachers introduced her to water soluble oils, a wonderfully flexible medium that was non-toxic and faster drying than traditional oils.
After her children were older, she continued to use the water soluble oils but added different mediums and mixed them with traditional oils and acrylics, as well as various acrylic mediums for a multi-layered effect.
Her work is in private collections all over the world and she currently shows in many Seattle venues. Her store on Etsy is an opportunity to reach a wider audience and meet like-minded artists and collectors.
The words that best describe her work are magic realism. Her complete portfolio can be seen at www.annelizabethscott.com.
