I have been involved in many aspects of arts and crafts since childhood. In 1994, I discovered polymer clay and decided it was the perfect media for me. I love the huge array of colors, the minimum of equipment needed and the versatility of it. In the beginning, I made jewelry, but one day I saw a photo of hammers, screwdrivers and pliers decorated with polymer clay canes. That lead me to start thinking about the things I used every day and realized that there were many things that could be decorated with the clay. Kitchen utensils immediately came to mind and, at that point, they became my main focus. I love having pretty things to use in my kitchen and for serving, don't you?
We all need some color to brighten our days and out-of-the-ordinary items in our homes that speak to us and reflect who we are. Handcrafted items give such a personal connection that is oftentimes lost with mass produced items. Each of my utensils is decorated with canes made by me. Both the front and back sides of the handle are decorated, sometimes with the same design, sometimes differently. Each utensil is signed with my logo. My hope is that my customers will feel that connection to something handmade and get as much pleasure from using these utensils as I get from making them.
