Guess what I named my kiln?

I wear my own jewellery because it's unique. No one in the world has the same piece as me. I'm unique so why shouldn't my jewellery be as special as me? I can also control the quality and finish of my jewellery too. I won't sell anything I wouldn't be happy to wear myself. A bold statement perhaps but true!

And my kiln is named Derek! Can't really say why, but it seemed a big, strong name...and he's a big kiln which needs to work hard.

My name is Lara and I am the owner of Lara Duncan Glass. I've been making glass pieces since 2010 from my home studio in Bishops Waltham in Hampshire. I love taking sheets of raw glass and creating a beautiful piece of jewellery for the wearer to enjoy.

My glass is formed in a kiln (Derek), which is just a big oven. The jewellery pieces go through many stages and numerous firings to add depth to a landscape or an additional touch of detailing. Each firing takes between 16-18 hours to complete. Many of my pieces include dichroic glass which gives a magic sparkle to each one.

Each piece is hand made and hand finished by me. Each one is a unique creation.

Selling on Etsy was a natural step for me. Friends and family had asked me make items for them and I was selling at local craft events. Etsy gives me the opportunity to sell my glass to the world...I think globally locally!

I accept Paypal. This is 100% safe and can be used even if you don't have a Paypal Account. I also accept Etsy Gift Cards

All items are posted the day after payment has cleared. Please ensure that payment is made within 3 days of purchase otherwise I will re-list the item. If you need some more time to pay, please let me know so that I can arrange something for you.

Shipping

I post all my items Royal Mail second class delivery, and internationally by airmail. I go to the Post Office on Tuesdsys & Thursdays. Please allow additional delivery time, up to 25 working days, for international addresses. For orders to Italy, please allow up to 40 working days for delivery.

Please allow additional time for for deliveries within the UK at Christmas. Christmas is such a busy time for the Royal Mail, 2nd class deliveries can take up to 14-21 days during the peak of the season. Please note that I am unable to process investigations for refunds for non delivery until 10 working days from posting. These are the rules set down by the Royal Mail.

If you need your item quickly and/or you require it to be insured please ask me to send your item by Royal Mail Special Delivery (UK only). I will then quote you the current price for that service and will arrange payment from you. Alternatively you could chose 'Signed For'Delivery which will have tracking throughout the delivery process. If you would like to have your item posted by 'Signed For' delivery I will quote the price and arrange payment from you.

All items are posted in boxes. I try to recycle packing items wherever possible. Please ensure your address is correct and if you wish me to post anything to a different address, just let me know.

Unfortunately I cannot be held responsible for any delays in delivery or losses if you do not chose a signed for or express service.

International customers will be responsible for any import taxes or duties levied & charged prior to delivery.

Unfortunately I am unable to take orders for delivery to France & Germany.
