Whispering emotions that words often fail to capture.
Nasci e cresci em Atenas, Grécia. Venho de uma família de artistas, que me influenciou até hoje. Tenho lembranças de quando criança, vagando pela oficina de litografia do meu pai. O grande equipamento offset elevava-se sobre mim como se eu estivesse caminhando por uma cidade grande, com os sons rítmicos gerados pela reprodução da maquete, culminando no processo milagroso de impressão. Ainda hoje, o aroma que emerge enquanto folheio um livro me faz transbordar de memórias e emoções. Essa emoção é a razão pela qual sempre carrego um caderno comigo, anotando pensamentos e imagens de tudo o que inspira minha mente. Por meio disso, percebi a essência luxuosa do papel e o poder da ilustração e da escrita que me acompanhariam pelo resto da vida. Sendo uma criança introvertida e com uma mente curiosa, desenvolvi a capacidade de visualizar emoções e a palavra escrita, o que me levou a estudar arte e design. Graças às minhas longas experiências profissionais, mas principalmente à minha experiência pessoal, desenvolvi o gosto por observar experiências e capturar essas imagens, emoções e sons para compartilhá-los com vocês por meio das minhas pinturas. Aprendi a seguir o caminho que a vida me mostrava e a valorizar a beleza que me cerca. Sempre olhando para o lado bom das coisas.
I am a native of Athens, Greece born and raised. I come from an artistic family, which has influenced me to this day. I have memories as a child wandering around my father’s lithography workshop. The large offset equipment towering over me as if I were taking a walk in a big city with the rhythmic sounds generated by the reproduction of the maquette and culminating in the miraculous process of printing. Even today the scent that emerges during my browsing through a book causes me to brim with memories and emotion. That emotion is the reason why I always carry a notebook with me, writing down thoughts and images of whatever inspires my mind. Through this, I realized the paper’s luxurious essence and the power of illustration and writing that would accompany me for the rest of my life. Given that I was an introverted child with an inquisitive mind, I developed the ability to visualize emotions and the written word that took me on a path to study art and design. Because of my long-term professional experiences but mostly through personal insight, I developed a love of observing experiences and capturing those images, emotions and sounds in order to share them with you through my paintings. I learned to pursue the path that life showed me and to cherish the beauty that surrounds me. Always looking on the bright side of things.
