A la mayoría de la gente no le entusiasma una hoja de cálculo. La abren, ven una pared llena de celdas vacías y la cierran en silencio. Esa sensación —debería ser más organizado, pero esto parece trabajo— es la razón de ser de SimpleDesigns.

Empecé a crear estas herramientas porque quería algo que se usara de verdad, en lugar de abandonarlo a la semana. Un presupuesto que se pudiera controlar. Un sistema de puntuación por el que todo el grupo se peleara. Un rastreador que te dijera qué hacer a continuación, en vez de solo mostrarte números. Así que primero las hice para mí, corregí todo lo que me molestaba y solo entonces se las entregué a los demás.

Ese hábito se convirtió en la filosofía de la tienda. Cada producto que vendo tiene una pestaña de "Primeros pasos" para que nunca te quedes mirando sin saber dónde escribir. Las celdas que rellenas están coloreadas para que no te pierdas. Todo se calcula automáticamente. Obtienes una versión en blanco y un ejemplo con el contenido, para que veas exactamente cómo debe quedar antes de hacer nada. Nada de esto es ostentoso; es simplemente la diferencia entre un archivo que usas y uno que olvidas que compraste.
La tienda ha evolucionado hasta convertirse en una mezcla que realmente me encanta crear: herramientas de finanzas personales que corrigen discretamente los malos hábitos de gasto, y juegos de mesa y de fiesta para todas las ocasiones, ideales para ver el March Madness, el Derby, los playoffs o el Mundial. Clientes diferentes, mismo objetivo: ofrecer una herramienta que funcione desde el primer momento.

Most people don't get excited about a spreadsheet. They open one, see a wall of empty cells, and quietly close it again. That feeling — I should be more organized, but this looks like work — is the whole reason SimpleDesigns exists.

I started building these tools because I wanted something that actually got used instead of abandoned after a week. A budget you'd keep up with. A bracket your whole group fought over. A tracker that told you what to do next instead of just showing you numbers. So I made them for myself first, fixed everything that annoyed me, and only then handed them to other people.

That habit became the shop. Every product I sell gets a "Getting Started" tab so you're never staring at it wondering where to type. The cells you fill in are colored so you can't get lost. Everything calculates itself. You get a clean blank version and a filled-in example, so you can see exactly how it's supposed to look before you touch anything. None of that is flashy — it's just the difference between a file you use and a file you forget you bought.
The shop has grown into a mix I genuinely love making: personal finance tools that quietly fix a money habit, and seasonal pools and party games that pull a group together for March Madness, the Derby, the playoffs, the World Cup. Different buyers, same goal — give somebody a tool that works the moment they open it.
