My Malas are almost always one-of-a-kind, with no other just like it in the world, because I choose the Teacher/Guru beads from bead artists all across the globe who love to create magical, beautiful, meaningful handmade beads. Each one of these beads deserves to be combined with sister beads of the very best quality, so whenever possible, I buy grade A - AAA gemstone beads. They cost a little more, but the flash of the light in them is well worth the pleasure and beauty they bring. I've worked hard on the design of my Malas so there are no knots showing, but you'd be surprised to know that they each include 48 invisible knots to make sure they're quite secure. I switched from real silk tassels to nylon tassels early on when I discovered that the nylon is soft and shiny and holds up well to the occasional water splash, plus they keep their shape beautifully, whereas the silk needs far more protection. I use the very best cording in the world and accent beads and marker beads of the best quality I can find. The best thing about making Malas and other beaded jewelry for people is the excitement they feel when they first see it. So many times they tell me they have goosebumps! I just LOVE that! Each creation is made with care so that you can enjoy it for a long, long time. NOTE: I have stopped showing a lot of my jewelry on Etsy because of copycats who don't put in the quality and I do most of my work on commission or sell through local galleries or museums for the past few years.
