I created this shop to share my passion for beautiful, useful things and to upcycle found objects.
Growing up in New England with a mom as an antique dealer, helped to shape my interest in home décor and antiques. It was always a humorous “battle” between my parents as to who would get to indulge their weekend passion. Some of my fondest memories are of driving to the coast so my dad could go sailing for the weekend. Along the way it would become a game. If my mom spotted a yard sale sign we would have to stop, but if my dad did, he would distract her and speed up.
My mom grew up in an era where keeping a home was taken to an art form. Her creative force and willingness to try all things artistic, from quilting and sewing to drawing, stenciling and crafting provided a safe environment for my own artistic expression. Taking a nod from her years of sewing recital and Halloween costumes as well as prom dresses, I experimented quite a bit in the 80’s spending time at the army navy store and local thrift shops. I loved looking at the old dresses at the flea markets and often tried to combine the old with the new.
After an extended time in Florida I am back again in New England restocking my shop with very selective items that I love to fine and love to share.
This shop was created to share my passion for beautiful, useful things. I look forward to inspiring and being inspired by my fellow Etsy shop owners. At night Igo to bed dreaming of pink Pyrex and upcycling vintage lace and wake in the morning excited to see what the new day will bring. I look forward to experiencing this journey with all of you.
Sincerely,
Anne Marie
