.My name is Ijeoma Mercy, and I am a graduate of English Arts in Nigeria. I studied Fashion and sustainability and fashion as an industry at Stockholm University. Originally from Nigeria, I have been living in Sweden for several years. I am happily married and blessed with daughters.

As a self-taught fashion designer and the proud owner of AFROCOLOURS COLLECN, I create unique collections of ready-to-wear sustainable clothes and accessories. Each piece is carefully handmade, reflecting the rich heritage of wax fabric and tie-and-dye fabrics locally made in West Africa.

The goal of Afrocolours C. is to create long-lasting, multipurpose African-inspired wear for people of all races, regardless of age. I specialize in recycling old fabrics, creating customised wear for clients, and mending old clothes to their former glory. I am also a surface designer for home goods, clothing, and textiles.

In sourcing my materials, I am proud to say that 10% of my production is locally made at the heart of Lagos, Nigeria, while I make the remaining 90%. This commitment to local production is just one aspect of our no-waste policy. We often recycle scrap fabrics into beautifully made accessories, which we then contribute to non-profit organizations, making a positive impact on both the environment and the community.

In addition to my business, I am a member of the West African Women's Association (WAWA) and have been able to teach, empower, and inspire young girls and women in African fabric craft. I also train women in Africa to set up their craft businesses.

My fashion sense is Afro-simple, sustainable, comfy, and stylish. At Afrocolours Collecn, we are dedicated to bringing the modern luxury of African fashion to people of all races through our quality, sustainable, handmade clothing, accessories, and home decor.
