Amanda Yoder Studio is een eenmansstudio in Brooklyn die handgemaakte meubels en woonaccessoires van natuurlijk hout maakt. Elk stuk begint met duurzaam gewonnen Noord-Amerikaans hardhout en wordt afgewerkt met volledig natuurlijke technieken – geen synthetische beitsen, geen compromissen.
Ik ben Amanda. Ik heb twee jaar lang een meubelmakersopleiding gevolgd in de buurt van Asheville, North Carolina, waar ik traditionele houtverbindingstechnieken en handmatige afwerkingsmethoden heb geleerd, voordat ik deze studio begon. Mijn werk is geïnspireerd op zowel historische westerse meubelontwerpen als hedendaagse vormen. Ik wil dat elk meubelstuk zich net zo thuis voelt in een 18e-eeuwse boerderij als in een modern appartement in Brooklyn.
Dat is eigenlijk het idee achter alles wat ik maak: een brug slaan tussen generaties. Een goed gemaakt houten meubelstuk overleeft trends en overleeft ons. Het verbindt de mensen die het gebruiken met de mensen die het hebben gemaakt, en met het materiaal zelf. Ik wil dat mijn werk dat gevoel van continuïteit in uw huis brengt.

Amanda Yoder Studio is a Brooklyn-based, one-woman studio making natural wooden furniture and homewares by hand. Every piece starts as sustainably sourced North American hardwood and is finished using all-natural techniques — no synthetic stains, no shortcuts.
I'm Amanda. I trained for two years in furniture making outside of Asheville, North Carolina, learning traditional joinery and hand-finishing techniques before starting this studio. My work draws on both historic Western furniture design and contemporary form. I want each piece to feel just as at home in an 18th-century farmhouse as it does in a Brooklyn apartment today.
That's really the idea behind everything I make: drawing a line across generations. A well-made piece of wood furniture outlives trends and outlives us. It connects the people who use it to the people who made it, and to the material itself. I want my work to bring that sense of continuity into your home.
