BEAUTIFUL THINGS COME TOGETHER ONE STITCH AT A TIME...
I've always loved small shops since I was really young. There's something about individuality and personal attention that only small shops can offer. I was taught to embroider as a child whilst growing up in Budapest, made some of my clothes, made pictures out of lentils and eggshells and loved baking crepes. I studied business studies and as life got busier and busier I lost touch with my creative life. I didn't even realise that WAS my creative life. We made things because they weren't available and that's just how things were. After a couple of decades of living in busy London trying various things our son was born and we moved to the USA. This is the third country I was living in and was looking for new friends so I joined a local stitching class. I also learned to dye cloth. I was looking for unique threads for my projects and couldn't find any, so I dyed some. My hand dyed threads were admired by the stitching / embroidering friends, so I made some for them, and as they got more popular I opened my Etsy shop. It took a while to get it going but it was really worth the effort. Encouraging friends helped. I think sharing my hand dyed threads along with textiles and a few other beauties, encouraging people to make things, slow down, discover their creative voice is one of the most rewarding thing I've ever done in my life. Long live small shops, embroidery, creativity and Etsy!
