Comencé a una edad temprana queriendo hacer mis propios diseños. ¡Aprendí a coser y tejer de mi madre y diseñaba y hacía ropa y accesorios para mis muñecas Barbie! ¡Pasé a diseñar y hacer mi propia ropa ya que quería algo que nadie más tenía!
Nunca había aprendido a hacer ganchillo, así que hace un par de años, en 2015, decidí suscribirme a una revista para enseñarme lo básico, lo que hice durante aproximadamente un año. También vi muchos videos de You Tube para aprender algunas técnicas más, haciendo muchas variaciones de corazones, hojas y flores para las cuales no estaba muy seguro de qué haría con ellas.
Decidí este año hacer un collar con algunas de las cosas que había hecho, y lo usé para ver qué interés ganaba. Tuve algunos comentarios muy positivos, así que decidí diseñar mis propios patrones. Se basan en puntos de sutura y técnicas que he recogido en el camino, ¡y algunas son solo un feliz accidente! Incorporo ideas en lo que espero que sean diseños originales. Investigo a otros diseñadores e Internet para ver si hay diseños que sean similares, tanto para obtener ideas como para asegurarme de que estoy haciendo algo único.
Después de unas semanas de ideas fluyendo y un desorden constante de mi habitación, ¡el pasatiempo se había vuelto viral! Varias personas dijeron que debería vender los diseños. ¡No había escrito correctamente ninguno de los patrones y algunos habían evolucionado a medida que los estaba haciendo! Volví a revisar los diseños que había probado y probado, hice algunos rediseños, escribí los patrones e hice un par de cada diseño para el stock. ¡Pasé un día fotografiándolos, convirtiendo mi habitación en un estudio para el día y usando casi todos mis mejores vestidos para modelarlos!
Espero poder alimentar mi sed de diseñar nuevas creaciones, sabiendo que también serán apreciadas por otra persona. Ya sea que la gente los compre para sí mismos o como un regalo, ¡espero que hagan que alguien esté tan feliz de recibirlos como yo de hacerlos!

I started at a young age wanting to make my own designs. I learned how to sew and knit from my mother and would design and make clothes and accessories for my Barbie dolls! I went on to designing and making my own clothes as I wanted something that no-one else had!
I had never learned how to crochet, so a couple of years ago, in 2015 I decided to subscribe to a magazine to teach me the basics, which I did for about a year. I also watched a lot of you tube videos to learn some more techniques, making many variations of hearts, leaves and flowers for which I wasn't quite sure what I would do with them!
I decided this year to make a necklace out of some of the things I had made, and wore it to see what interest it gained. I had some very positive feedback so decided to design my own patterns. They are based on stitches and techniques I have picked up along the way, and some are just a happy accident! I incorporate ideas into what I hope to be original designs. I research other designers and the Internet to see if there are designs that are similar, both to get ideas and also to make sure I am making something unique.
After a few weeks of ideas flowing and a steady cluttering of my bedroom, the hobby had turned viral! Several people said I should sell the designs. I had not properly written down any of the patterns and some had evolved as I was making them! I went back through designs I had tried and tested, did some re-designing, wrote down the patterns and made a couple of each design for stock. I spent a day photographing them, turning my room into a studio for the day, and wearing nearly all my best dresses to model them!
I hope to be able to fuel my thirst to design new creations, knowing they will also be appreciated by someone else. Whether people buy them for themselves or as a gift I hope they make someone as happy to receive them as I am to make them!
