Ho sempre desiderato che le cose fossero fatte in un modo molto specifico. I miei vestiti dovevano avere un certo aspetto e una certa fantasia. Volevo che gli scaffali fossero della giusta altezza e larghezza per contenere ciò che ci mettevo sopra. La mia borsa per le convention doveva contenere tutto ciò che avrei potuto comprare e mettere in mostra tutte le mie spille allo stesso tempo. Volevo cosplay intelligenti con caratteristiche uniche che stupissero gli altri. Volevo fare le cose a modo mio ed è così che so che sarebbero state esattamente come le avevo immaginate. Questo mi ha portato ad acquisire una vasta gamma di competenze per imparare a realizzare tutte queste cose a mano secondo le mie precise specifiche. Strumenti e macchine hanno reso la realizzazione migliore, più veloce e più facile, e poi ho voluto condividere i miei progetti e le mie creazioni con il mondo. Penso a ciò che faccio, a come lo faccio, al perché lo faccio, e traggo passione ed energia dal creare le cose che sogno nella mia testa. Passo ore a pensare a come voglio che qualcosa sia e a come voglio che sia unico. Beyond Basic Geek nasce dal desiderio di andare oltre la semplicità e l'essenzialità. Chiunque potrebbe creare qualcosa di perfettamente valido, ma io voglio progettare in modo intelligente e ponderato. Voglio che le persone vedano le mie creazioni e pensino: "È stato davvero intelligente" oppure "Non ci avrei mai pensato!". Voglio distinguermi. Voglio essere unico. Voglio andare oltre. Beyond Basic Geek fa parte del mio obiettivo: essere straordinario e portare creatività al mondo.

I've always had a desire in life that I wanted to have things a very specific way. My clothes had to look a certain way with a certain pattern. I wanted shelves to be the exact right height and width to fit what I was putting there. My tote bag for conventions had to carry everything I might buy and show off all my pins at the same time. I wanted to have clever cosplays with unique features that wowed others. I wanted to make things my way and that's how I know they would be exactly how I imagined. This led to me gaining a wide array of skills to learn how to make all these things by hand to my exact specifications. Tools and machines made it better, faster, and easier to make them, and then I wanted to share my designs and craftings with the world. I think about what I make, how I make it, why I make it, and I gain passion and energy from creating the things I dream up in my head. I'll spend hours thinking about how I want something to be and I want to be unique. Beyond Basic Geek comes from a foundation of wanting to go beyond the simple and the basic. Anybody could create something that would be perfectly fine, but I want to design cleverly and thoughtfully. I want people to see my creations and think to themselves, "That was really smart," or, "I never thought about doing THAT!" I want to stand out. I want to be unique. I want to go beyond. Beyond Basic Geek is part of my pursuit to be amazing and bring creativity to the world.
