Pedimos desculpas aos nossos clientes nos EUA por qualquer inconveniente e retomaremos os envios para os EUA assim que o USPS tiver um mecanismo para cobrar as novas tarifas (isso aumentará os custos de envio para os clientes nos EUA).
Meu nome é Andrea Taylor e eu bordo e ensino os estilos "japonês" de Sashiko e "Boro" há cerca de 20 anos, além de ser costureira há aproximadamente 40 anos. Também trabalho com tingimento índigo usando uma receita orgânica.
Sashiko e Boro parecem ser as técnicas nas quais consigo criar e expressar minha maior criatividade. Sempre ensinei o método tradicional de transferência de padrões Sashiko com papel Chaco para o tecido, pois sempre acreditei que ele me proporciona maior liberdade criativa em meus designs. Muitos dos meus designs são de minha autoria, inspirados em livros japoneses de domínio público que meu filho trouxe de suas inúmeras visitas ao Japão. Tive a sorte de visitar o Tokyo Quilt Show em 2015, um espetáculo incrível. Recentemente, expandi meus horizontes e incorporei meus próprios designs impressos em serigrafia e gravura em linóleo, combinando-os com Sashiko e Boro, o que confere uma nova dimensão ao meu trabalho.
Agora que a costura lenta está no radar de todos, o Sashiko, o estilo de costura lenta mais elegante e sofisticado, pode finalmente ocupar o lugar que lhe cabe como uma técnica para aprender e amar, como eu tenho feito há muitos anos.

*** UPDATE 25th August 2025 - Shipment to USA Suspended ***
Due to USA government removal of the US$800 Low value exemption (de minimis exemption) on import tariffs and the USPS and Austpost not having a process for Delivered Duty Paid or DDP payment of Tariffs on shipments in to the USA, we have had to suspend selling to USA delivery addresses.
We apologise to our USA customers for any inconvenience and we will resume shipment in to the USA as soon as USPS has a mechanism for collecting the new Tariffs (this will increase the postage costs for USA customers).
My name is Andrea Taylor and I have been stitching and teaching in the "Japanese" style of Sashiko and "Boro" for about 20 years and have been a dressmaker for around 40 years. I also indigo dye using an organic recipe vat.
Sashiko and Boro seem to be the techniques which I find I can create and be my most creative in. I have always tutored the traditional way of transferring Sashiko patterns with Chaco paper to fabric, as I have always believed that it has given me the most creative freedom with my designs. Many of my designs are developed by myself from copyright free Japanese books my son brought back from his many visits from Japan. I was lucky enough to visit in 2015 to see the Tokyo quilt show, an amazing spectacle. Recently I have branched out and have included my own screen printed and Lino cut printed designs to incorporate with Sashiko and Boro, giving another dimension to my work.
Now with the inclusion of slow stitching on everyone's "radar", Sashiko, the ultimate and most elegant of slow stitching styles can now hopefully take its rightful place as a technique to learn and love as I have for many years.
