Plantas que vale la pena cultivar. Historias que vale la pena conocer.
Plants Worth Growing. Stories Worth Knowing

Botanical Scout is a small, independent nursery in Austin, Texas, for gardeners who enjoy discovering uncommon plants and helping them grow. I’m Steve, and this shop began with a simple curiosity: what makes a plant remarkable, and what does it need to thrive?
I grow every plant from seed outdoors in Texas. My focus is healthy roots, good drainage, careful watering, and gradual acclimation. I use organic growing methods, without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, and give young plants time to develop rather than forcing rapid top growth.
Many of the plants I offer are native to Texas and the Southwest. Others are unusual, adapted species with an interesting history or an ability to handle heat, drought, and challenging soils. When possible, I observe plants where they naturally grow—on rocky slopes, in dry washes, across limestone country, and in thornscrub. Those observations inform the growing guidance and plant stories I share at BotanicalScout.com.
These are intentionally young starter plants. Each listing offers two or three live plants growing together in one pot. The exact number of plants is stated in each listing description. The seedling photographs show their approximate shipping size; mature plant and flower photographs show what they may become. Each plant grows at its own pace, and natural differences in size, shape, and foliage are part of growing from seed.
Shipping and printed care and planting guidance are included with your order. Your plants are covered by a live-arrival guarantee, with the full terms in each listing. If you need help choosing a plant or have questions about acclimation and care, message me through Etsy.
My hope is that you’ll enjoy more than adding a plant to your garden. You’ll get to know its character, watch it respond to your conditions, and take part in what it becomes.
