For the love of baskets (and now fluid acrylic art too!)...
I love to create baskets. I love the challenge of figuring out a new basket design or pattern. I love working with a buyer on a custom order. I love weaving with some awesome friends. I love looking at baskets. I love using baskets. Well, I guess I just love baskets, lol!
I have always thrived when learning a new craft or hobby - and just ask my husband, I have a LOT of them. But weaving baskets is by far my favorite. There is something about looking at a roll of reed and having a vision of the end product that is exciting. I am always looking for new ideas and don't often follow an exact pattern. Some days I just grab some reed and free form the design as each row progresses.
As I have been exploring more contemporary designs for my basketry, I've been drawn into fluid acrylic paint pouring. There are so many different techniques! My shop continues to expand highlighting unique, one-of-a-kind wood bases that display these varying techniques. You'll see these painted and epoxy resin (high temperature and food grade) coated wood bases pop up in mini drilled bases for either twining or pine needle coiling, as bases used in my own baskets available for sale, and soon to be released ... basket weaving kits and sold individually for your own creative weaving.
