Bugged Out is een lijn van mijn grillige bug-, fruit-, groente- en beestjesontwerpen die met de hand zijn gezeefdrukt op baby- en kinderkleding, draagtassen, notitiekaarten en accessoires.
De naam Bugged Out heeft een heel persoonlijke betekenis en heeft te maken met mijn diagnose Multiple Sclerose in 1998. Dat stoorde me echt. Ik vormde een MS Walk-team en noemde het "Bugged Out". Elk jaar ontwierp ik een nieuw team T-shirt met een van mijn bugs, en elk jaar gaven zoveel mensen commentaar op mijn T-shirts en vroegen waar ze ze konden kopen! Dus in 2007 bugged out, het bedrijf werd uitgebroed!
Een van onze eerste bugklanten, de New York Botanical Garden Shop in the Garden, gaf me de opdracht om kindvriendelijke groenten en fruit te ontwerpen voor een exclusieve productlijn voor hun "Edible Garden Festivals" in 2009 en 2010. Deze ontwerpen zijn nu ook verkrijgbaar bij Bugged Out.
In de afgelopen jaren - de don't bug me (New York wildlife, zeg maar!) collectie werd toegevoegd aan Bugged Out! De "nachtelijke nacht" bedwants, de "ik (hart) new york" kakkerlak, de mug "stekend New York, New York", de "doving ..... uhhh pigeoning New York" duif, de rat kauwende New York, de "Nuts about NY" eekhoorn, de "hangin' in gotham city" vleermuis en de "wild about NY" wasbeer!
Maak kennis met het Bugged Out-team: ik, Dina en mijn man Gerd! Ik ben een opgeleide architect en werkte bijna 20 jaar in het veld, aan high-end residentiële en commerciële projecten in New York City en internationaal. Gerd, een zonne-ingenieur uit Duitsland, kwam terecht in de IT-wereld van NYC. Wij zijn de bugs achter Bugged Out!
Ik teken mijn Bugged Out-ontwerpen in Adobe Illustrator. Nou, eigenlijk, voor de eerste paar bugontwerpen gebruikte ik mijn architectuurprogramma, AutoCad! Sommige van mijn ontwerpen zijn eenvoudig en eenvoudig, terwijl andere veel complexer zijn. Ik onderzoek altijd het echte werk om tot een vereenvoudigd maar nog steeds gebaseerd ontwerp uit de praktijk te komen. Het kost veel tweaken totdat ik tevreden ben met mijn ontwerp!
Al onze producten worden op maat gemaakt in kleine oplages van natuurlijke en / of gerecyclede materialen en worden met de hand gezeefdrukt in onze NY-studio.
Bugged Out geeft terug aan Multiple Sclerose onderzoek om te helpen bij het vinden van een remedie. Door bij ons te winkelen steunt u deze nobele zaak. Bedankt voor je deelname aan Bugged Out in de strijd tegen MS.
Bugged Out is a line of my whimsical bug, fruit, veggie and critter designs hand screen printed on baby and kids clothing, tote bags, notecards and accessories.
The name Bugged Out has a very personal meaning and has to do with my diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis in 1998. That really bugged me out. I formed an MS Walk team and called it “Bugged Out". Every year I designed a new team T-shirt with one of my bugs, and every year so many people commented on my T-shirts and asked where they could buy them! So in 2007 Bugged Out, the company was hatched!
One of our first bug customers, the New York Botanical Garden Shop in the Garden , commissioned me to design kid-friendly fruits and veggies for an exclusive line of products for their "Edible Garden Festivals" in 2009 and 2010. These designs are also now available at Bugged Out.
Over the last few years - the don’t bug me (New York wildlife, so to speak!) collection was added to Bugged Out! The “nighty night” bedbug, the "I (heart) new york" cockroach, the mosquito “stinging New York, New York”, the "doving.....uhhh pigeoning New York" pigeon, the rat munching New York, the "Nuts about NY" squirrel, the "hangin' in gotham city" bat and the “wild about NY” raccoon!
Meet the Bugged Out team: me, Dina, and my husband Gerd! I am a trained architect and worked in the field for almost 20 years, on high-end residential and commercial projects in New York City and internationally. Gerd, a solar engineer from Germany, ended up in the NYC IT world. We are the bugs behind Bugged Out!
I draw my Bugged Out designs in Adobe Illustrator. Well, actually, for the first few bug designs I used my architectural program, AutoCad! Some of my designs are simple and basic while others are much more complex. I always research the real thing to come up with a simplified but still based-on-real-life design. It takes a lot of tweaking until I am satisfied with my design!
All of our products are custom made in small runs from natural and/or recycled materials and are screen printed by hand in our NY studio.
