Family-owned for 60 years.
Delaware Camera isn't in Delaware. It's a small chain of family-owned camera stores in Buffalo, NY. Two locations are left, one on Transit Rd. in the suburb of Williamsville, the other still on Delaware Avenue in the city of Buffalo, within a couple of blocks of the store's original location since 1954. The same family owns two more stores in Philadelphia, PA, under the name of Jack's Cameras. All four stores have photo labs in them, and do film processing and digital photo printing.
We also have an online business. The main warehouse is in Philadelphia, but the order processing is all done in Buffalo. As the market has shifted over the decades, we've managed to stay alive partly through our online sales. We've been selling on eBay for over 15 years, and on Amazon for more than 5.
Etsy is a new venture for us, but it provides an outlet that eBay and Amazon don't. It's a lot more small business friendly, and that's what we are. We also have a rich history in the photographic industry, and over the years we've accumulated a lot of vintage gear.
We're different from most camera stores because all of us are really genuinely into photography. Our employees are some of the most knowledgeable in the business, and we really truly love taking pictures and teaching other people how to take pictures.
If you're local, stop in and nerd out with us.
If you're not local, convo us anyway with your questions-- we know photography, film and digital, in a way most retailers don't. We don't just sell this stuff, we use it too. The same person who packs your vintage camera order will probably process your film. It's a small store. And we love what we do!
