Folklore, legends and strange beings, reimagined by hand.
Doppelworks was born from our fascination with folklore, legends and the strange beings imagined to embody fear, protection, rage, wisdom and everything that cannot be easily explained.
Our first collections are deeply inspired by Japanese folklore and its masks, spirits and guardians. Some pieces remain close to their traditional colors, while others are transformed through bold, unexpected palettes and our own hand-painted interpretations.
But Doppelworks is not limited to one culture, period or visual language. This is only the beginning. We are drawn to creatures, symbols and stories from different traditions, as well as original characters and contemporary worlds.
Our pieces begin with sculptural models created by independent digital artists. At Doppelworks, we produce them in PLA using 3D printing, carefully prepare each surface, and individually hand-paint and finish every piece with acrylic paints and protective varnish in our studio in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Our work lies in transforming each digital sculpture into a finished physical object through color, texture, shading and hand-painted detail. This combination of contemporary fabrication and manual finishing allows us to preserve the complexity of the original sculpture while giving every piece a distinct Doppelworks identity.
No two pieces are exactly alike. Small differences in shading, texture and brushwork are a natural part of the process and give each one its own expression.
These are not anonymous, mass-produced decorations. Each piece is produced and finished slowly, one at a time, to bring presence, story and a little controlled chaos into your space.
