The Discovery of my Cutie Mark
In My Little Pony, the mark on their rump is called a cutie mark, and the ponies only get it when they discover their passion and purpose.
My cutie mark is jewelry. More specifically, wearable art that inspires and empowers the wearer.
It started in the wilderness on one of my many survival adventures when I learned to make stone beads, arrowheads, and sinew cordage. I even used spent shell casings I found to make interesting embellishments on my tools and gifts for fellow travelers. I had a knack for it and loved making things that spoke to the wearer.
Over time I learned how to use wire, gemstones, copper, bronze, and metal clay. In 2021 I took a soldering and lapidary course and added silversmith to my repertoire.
I started my first Etsy shop in 2008 primarily for my Metal Clay designs and got to be a member of the Etsy Metal Clay Team.
Since transitioning to this new metal fabrication medium, I rebranded and started my current shop and began selling at local craft fairs where I have the joy of getting to interact personally with my wonderful customers.
