Everything Your Mama Made & More!
Hello, I am Kymy, 29yr old stay at home mama to 5 wonderful kids! My husband and I have an 8 yr old gamer, very identical 6yr old twin fashionistas, a 2.5 yr old who is all boy & a 10 month old princess that has us all wrapped around her squishy little fingers.
This all started 5 years ago when my oldest son who is now in 3rd grade started his 3 year old pre-k class. I am a jack of all trades to speak when it comes to crafting so I asked his teachers if there was something they needed for the class rooms... they weren't quite sure what to ask for. When I noticed the overflowing dress of bin full of mostly pinks, purples, sparkles & tulle I suggested some boys dress up clothes which they loved. Next thing you know I made up my first superhero capes and they were a huge hit (and 5 years later are still going strong)! When friends saw them they started asking how much they could purchase them for & next thing you know I open up an etsy shop!
I grew up doing craft fairs with my grandmother and mom, so selling handmade goods was not entirely new too me. When I started on Etsy though the online concept of buying handmade was still rather new and has grown and changed a lot over the years.
My shop name 'Everything Your Mama Made & More!' is the same as my crafting blog. It leads back to the jack of all trades thing... I dabble in a lot of things from traditional crochet and basic dresses like your mother may have done to all sorts of upcycles and other twists on traditional crafting.
My most recent project has been pattern design, and honestly I think I have found what I really LOVE. I have been sewing and blogging about it for years including drafting my own patterns. As my twins have gotten older they have shown they have quite the fashion sense and I still want to sew for them & they still want me to sew, but they wanted more modern trendy styles. Well once I started drafting patterns for recent clothes friends and my husband encouraged me to start making them to sell... a week later my first 2 patterns are in testing with a 3rd on the way. I hope to start stocking the shop on 8/1 so check back soon.
My goal is providing well made, quality items for people of all ages to enjoy!
