Our Story
Hallo! Mein Name ist Laura und ich bin die Inhaberin von Invited by LamaWorks. Es ist so schön, Sie kennenzulernen!
Invited by LamaWorks ist ein von einer Frau geführtes kleines Unternehmen mit Sitz in der kleinen Stadt Quincy, Illinois nördlich von St. Louis, das von klassischen, traditionellen und zeitlosen Hochzeiten inspiriert ist.
Ich habe 2008 mit Invited by LamaWorks angefangen, nachdem meine Hochzeit eine kreative Lücke in mir hinterlassen hatte. Ich habe einen Großteil meiner Hochzeit selbst gemacht und verspürte einfach das Bedürfnis, etwas zu gestalten. Wenn Sie sich die verkauften Artikel ansehen, werden Sie feststellen, dass der Laden zunächst mit Strickmützen und Schals begann, bevor er in Einladungen landete. Manchmal dauert es eine Weile, herauszufinden, wo Ihre wahre Nische ist.
Im Jahr 2009 wagte ich den Schritt und kündigte meinen Job in der Biomedizintechnik, um Vollzeit in der Werkstatt zu arbeiten. Bio-was? Ja, Sie haben nicht erwartet, dass Ihr Hochzeitseinladungsdesigner einen Master-Abschluss in Biomedizintechnik hat, oder? Zum Glück bedeutet das für Sie, dass ich kreativ bin, ein Experte im Umgang mit Software bin und auf kleinste Details achte. Ich bin immer eine Frau mit einem Plan, einem Backup-Plan und einem Backup dafür, nur für den Fall von Notfällen.
Die Räumlichkeiten meines Ateliers haben sich immer weiter entwickelt, aber ich habe 2022 mein dauerhaftes Zuhause im historischen Geschäftsviertel eröffnet und genieße es, diese Räumlichkeiten zu haben, aber ich liebe auch die Tatsache, dass ich immer noch gerne von meinem Heimbüro aus arbeiten und gleichzeitig unsere vier Jungen und ein kleines Kind großziehen kann Prinzessin.
Ich schätze Ihre Entscheidung, Einladungen individuell an Ihre Bedürfnisse anzupassen. Du hast einige Ideen, aber nach stunden-, tage- und wochenlanger Suche kannst du einfach nicht finden, was du suchst und bist müde und ausgebrannt. Hör auf mit der Schriftrolle, Freund. Ich mache mir jeden Tag daran, Ihre Ideen aufzugreifen und daraus Ihre perfekten Einladungen zu machen, ohne bei Null anfangen zu müssen.
Sie brauchen eine Einladung, die so unglaublich ist wie die Details, die Sie planen. Etwas, das fesselnd ist und Ihre Gäste mit den Emotionen des Tages verbindet. Vielleicht haben Sie viele Einladungen gesehen, die „einfach in Ordnung“ sind ... oder Sie sagen: „Wenn ich nur die Schriftarten in dieser und die Blumen in dieser nehmen könnte, wäre es perfekt.“
Jede Hochzeit ist einzigartig und voller Persönlichkeit. Hier komme ich ins Spiel. Ich passe Hochzeitseinladungen individuell an, um Ihnen einen Stil sowie Farben und Elemente zu bieten, die perfekt zu Ihrem Hochzeitstag passen.
Ich bin hier um dir zu helfen. Einladungen gibt es nicht in Einheitsgröße. Ich führe Sie durch den Prozess – von den Farben bis zur Etikette. Speichern Sie die Daten auf Ihren Dankeskarten. Ich bin Ihr Experte, der all diese Ideen in Ihrem Kopf aufnimmt, sie zu Papier bringt und dafür sorgt, dass alle Details pünktlich und ohne Eile fertig werden.
Was ist mit dem Namen, den Sie fragen? LamaWorks ist eine Mischung aus meinem Namen – LAura MAys. Jetzt wissen Sie! Es hat nichts mit Lamas zu tun, aber ich habe das Lama als eine Art Ladenmaskottchen genommen!
Ich bin gespannt auf die Zukunft von LamaWorks. Ich glaube an Freude und Lächeln. Ich glaube an Freundlichkeit und Gnade. Ich glaube daran, authentisch zu sein. Ich schätze Ihr Geschäft, Ihre Hilfe bei der Förderung meiner Arbeit und hoffe, dass dieses Jahr noch viele tolle Dinge auf uns zukommen.

Hi there! My name is Laura and I'm the owner of Invited by LamaWorks. it's so nice to meet you!
Invited by LamaWorks is a one-woman owned and operated small business based in the small town of Quincy, Illinois north of St. Louis, inspired by classic, traditional and timeless weddings.
I started Invited by LamaWorks in 2008 after my wedding left me with a creative void. I DIY-ed a lot of my wedding and just felt this need to create. If you look through the sold items you'll see that the shop started with knit hats and scarves before it landed in invitations. Sometimes it takes awhile to find where your true niche is.
In 2009, I took the plunge and quit my day job in biomedical engineering to work on the shop full time. Bio-what? Yep, you didn't expect your wedding invitation designer to have a masters degree in biomedical engineering did you? Lucky for you that means I am creative, a whiz with software and pay attention to very minute details. I'm always a woman with a plan, a backup plan and a backup to that just in case of emergencies.
My studio space has bounced around, but I opened up my forever home in the historic business district in 2022 and enjoy having that space, but I absolutely love that I can still enjoy working out of my home office while raising our four boys and one little princess.

You have some ideas, but , but after hours, days and weeks of searching you just can't find what you're looking for and you're tired and burned out. Stop the scroll, friend. I set out every day to take your ideas and turn them into your perfect invitations, without having to start from a blank slate.
You need an invitation that's as incredible as the details you are planning. Something that's compelling and connects you guests to the emotions of the day. Maybe you've seen a lot of invitations that are "just ok" ... or you find yourself saying "if I could just take the fonts in this one and the flowers in that one it would be perfect"

I'm here to help you. Invitations are not one size fits all. I'll guide you through the process - from colors to etiquette, save the dates through your thank you cards. I'm your expert that will take all of those ideas in your head, get them down on paper and make sure the details are all finished on time and rush free.
What's with the name you ask? LamaWorks is a mash up of my name - LAura MAys. Now you know! It has nothing to do with llamas, but I've taken the llama as a bit of a store mascot!
