Frequently asked questions

Why did my purchase only include one BX file?

We use Embrilliance to digitize all of our fonts, this makes them "native fonts" on the Embrilliance software! Native fonts only require one BX file, because you have the ability to adjust the size of the lettering, and the software will recalculate the stitches accordingly! I know, this goes against usual embroidery rules, but it's just a really neat exception to the rule :)

How do the embossed fonts work?

Glad you asked! So we digitize the embossed fonts in layers, similar to applique. You will hoop your stabilizer only, then the machine will run a placement stitch for your foam. You place the foam, and the machine will tack it down and stitch out a perforating run stitch around each foam letter. You then peel away the excess foam, and float the fabric or garment over the foam letters. The machine will then stitch the finishing outline, and you're done!

Do the 3D Puff & Embossed fonts come with instructions?

YES! I spent a lot of time creating informative PDF files to include in every download! I made instructions for a few different types of fonts that I offer, so you will get one that is specifically tailored to the type of font you purchased :)

Custom and personalized orders

I take custom work on a case by case basis!
However, I am alway happy to take suggestions for new fonts, if you don't see quite what you're looking for on my shop!

What type of fabric & stabilizer is best for the embossed or 3D puff fonts?

For 3D puff fonts:
-You can stitch these onto most fabrics that you'd typically use for embroidery, as long as you have adequate stabilizer. I like to use sturdy cut away, because the stitches do need to be more dense than normal embroidery fonts.
For Embossed font:
-The embossed fonts were designed to pair with weighted stretch materials (such as sweatshirt fleece), this is because the fabric does need to be able to stretch around the foam a little bit. You can certainly try any fabric you'd like, but I recommend doing test sews on every project until you know what you like best for each style :) As for stabilizer, I recommend 2 layers of sturdy cutaway stabilizer, that can be trimmed down and around each letter once you're finished.

How Can I Color Sort My Design, If I Only Have Embrilliance Express?

Unfortunately, the Express version of Embrilliance doesn't support the ability to color sort your designs. If you have Embrilliance Essentials, then you can color sort under the Utility tab, then select New View in the small window that pops up. Otherwise, you can save your design from Embrilliance, then load it into another software to do the color sorting.

Why are the letters in my font stitching out completely one at a time vs. stitching one layer of the design together?

This happens if you haven't done a "color sort" on your design. Fonts that have multiple layers (applique or embossed), will need to be color sorted before you move the design to your machine. This combines the letters and allows the layers of the design to stitch together, instead of each letter stitching out from start to finish before moving on to the next letter.
