Estamos muy contentos de que solo nos falten 2 ventas para alcanzar las 400 desde que abrimos nuestra pequeña tienda en Etsy hace dos años y medio.
Mientras esperamos alcanzar ese importante hito, nos tomamos un momento para tomar nota de dónde provienen esas ventas tan apreciadas y tenemos algunas cifras interesantes que compartir sobre esas ventas.

Algunos preparativos navideños son apropiados y oportunos, ¡pero otros son horribles y están mal!
Hace dos semanas, mientras esperaba en la fila para pagar en mi tienda de todo a una libra (las tiendas de todo a una libra solo son superadas como mi tipo de tienda favorita por las tan queridas e irresistibles tiendas benéficas), solté un jadeo involuntario de sorpresa, mezclado con angustia, cuando vi algo verdaderamente espantoso; considerando que en ese momento, era mediados de septiembre, mucho antes de Halloween, el Día de Acción de Gracias canadiense, el Día de Colón, Diwali, el Día de Acción de Gracias estadounidense y (literalmente) cientos de otros días de celebración para diferentes países, causas, grupos de personas, organizaciones y eventos históricos. La razón de mi sorpresa y angustia fue que mi tienda de todo a una libra local ya había montado una gran y colorida exhibición de... ¡¡¡galletas navideñas!!!
Aunque, hasta donde yo sé, nunca he conocido a nadie que, en lugar de reaccionar como yo al ver los brillantes, relucientes, dorados y plateados petardos, en su mayoría rojos y verdes, con sorpresa y horror porque más de tres meses antes de que se necesitaran, hay suficiente demanda como para que se considere apropiado, incluso necesario, empezar a vender petardos navideños, reaccione en cambio con una mezcla de deleite y alivio y piense para sí mismo: "¡Qué alivio y justo a tiempo! Me estaba preocupando porque me estaba quedando sin tiempo antes de poder comprar mis petardos navideños este año". Claramente, debe haber gente así por ahí, ya que la tienda debe estar respondiendo a la demanda de los clientes de petardos navideños a mediados de septiembre.
Incluso es posible que las tiendas tengan que responder a las consultas de clientes ya ansiosos sobre cuándo podrán finalmente comprar sus galletas navideñas este año, ¡ya que el tiempo se estaba acabando!
Lo único glorioso de la exhibición de petardos navideños de mediados de septiembre fue que, ya fuera intencionalmente, por lo absurdo de la situación, o por una maravillosa casualidad, la gran e impresionante exhibición de petardos navideños se había colocado justo al lado de una exhibición ya existente, casi igual de grande e incluso más colorida, de flotadores y colchonetas inflables para nadar. Esta yuxtaposición resultó aún más maravillosa porque ese día, cuando recibí el primer recordatorio visual de que la Navidad se acercaba, hacía un calor inusual de 25 grados y un sol radiante, por lo que solo llevaba pantalones cortos y una camiseta. Mi reacción exagerada al ver la exhibición de petardos navideños pudo deberse, al menos en parte, al sudor que me caía en los ojos y hacía que la camiseta se me pegara a la espalda, ya que, claro, mi tienda de todo a un euro no tiene aire acondicionado.
Si bien esos petardos navideños fueron mi primer recordatorio visual de que se acercaba la Navidad —aunque todavía desde la distancia—, ya llevo un mes pensando en ella. Aunque esto no se ha traducido en sacar ninguna decoración, ya estoy haciendo preparativos para la Navidad, pero no para mí.
Los preparativos que he estado haciendo y que seguiré haciendo durante este mes y hasta Navidad tienen como objetivo asegurarme de encontrar y publicar artículos interesantes, atractivos y (con suerte) exactamente lo que esperabas encontrar para las personas en tu lista de regalos esta Navidad.
Hemos estado añadiendo artículos a nuestra tienda con regularidad y esperamos que hayan disfrutado viendo las numerosas novedades que hemos publicado en las últimas 4 o 5 semanas, incluyendo nuevos productos en todas nuestras secciones de vidrio, porcelana, madera y metal. Entre estas novedades se encuentra un maravilloso grupo de figuritas chinas de barro, que ampliaremos en las próximas semanas. Hemos añadido piezas individuales y coloridas de vidrio artístico, así como juegos de vasos, incluyendo un magnífico juego de 4 vasos con motivos navideños franceses. Hay muchas cajas coleccionables nuevas hechas de diversos materiales, así como campanas nuevas de muchos tamaños y formas. Hemos incluido magníficos hallazgos para todo tipo de coleccionistas que buscan ampliar sus colecciones. También hay objetos únicos y maravillosos que nos encantó encontrar, y esperamos que disfruten de la misma sensación de asombro que nosotros al descubrirlos.
Si bien algunos de esos objetos nuevos y únicos, como la fuente de caviar de plata y cristal tallado, los elefantes de madera tallada con ceniceros en sus lomos, las antiguas lecherías escocesas y los moldes antiguos para gelatina, tal vez ya no se necesiten para su propósito original, todos ellos siguen siendo hermosos y útiles para otros fines y necesidades, igualmente especiales. Incluso los siempre populares y muy solicitados tarros de queso stilton de Fortnum & Mason, de los que tenemos un buen stock listo para que los disfrute, difícilmente se volverán a usar para su propósito original.
Algunos de nuestros nuevos hallazgos no los verás a la vista, ya que los hemos encontrado tras una búsqueda exhaustiva para satisfacer las peticiones especiales de nuestros clientes. La búsqueda y el hallazgo de estos artículos son de los descubrimientos más gratificantes que disfrutamos, y siempre nos alegra ampliar nuestra lista de objetos especiales. Así que, si buscas algo en particular que no encuentras en nuestra tienda, contáctanos y cuéntanos qué buscas; te diremos si podemos ayudarte.
Si su experiencia es la contraria y encuentra muchas cosas interesantes en nuestra tienda, le animamos a que se ponga en contacto con nosotros, ya que solemos ofrecer precios especiales para los grupos de artículos que haya encontrado.
El último punto de interés e información que queremos compartir son las nuevas normas aduaneras y arancelarias para mercancías que ingresan a los Estados Unidos. Estas nuevas normas entraron en vigor a finales de agosto y hay dos puntos específicos que queremos que tenga en cuenta si vamos a enviar algún artículo que haya encontrado en nuestra tienda a un destino en los Estados Unidos.
En primer lugar, ya no existe la exención de minimis, por lo que ahora se deben pagar aranceles aduaneros a todos los productos enviados a Estados Unidos. Anteriormente, los productos con un valor inferior a 800 dólares estaban exentos del pago de aranceles aduaneros al ser enviados a Estados Unidos. Con la eliminación de esta exención, todo lo que envío a nuestros clientes en Estados Unidos está sujeto a un arancel aduanero del 10 %.
Hemos decidido pagar el 10% de aranceles aduaneros que se aplica a todos los pedidos que enviamos a Estados Unidos, y no lo hacemos simplemente porque seamos maravillosos (como nos han dicho, en lugar de haber llegado a esa conclusión por nosotros mismos).
Cuando la exención de minimis estaba vigente, cuatro millones de envíos diarios ingresaban a Estados Unidos bajo dicha exención. Ahora que la exención ha finalizado, esos cuatro millones de envíos diarios, que antes no requerían ningún tipo de procesamiento ni revisión detallada, deben procesarse individualmente antes de poder ingresar a Estados Unidos y continuar su viaje a su destino. El trabajo adicional que esto ha supuesto para el ya sobrecargado Servicio de Aduanas de Estados Unidos es enorme y extraordinario, lo que ha provocado retrasos y demoras que antes no existían, ya que cada envío se revisa para determinar el monto aduanero a pagar y, en algunos casos, la entrega del paquete se retiene hasta que el destinatario pague el arancel correspondiente.
Sin embargo, si el importe de los aranceles aduaneros ya se ha pagado al entrar el paquete en EE. UU., este no entra en el proceso de revisión y pago. En su lugar, omite la parte del proceso que causa retrasos y continúa su camino hacia su destino final sin necesidad de una revisión detallada ni del pago correspondiente. Para que nuestros clientes en EE. UU. reciban sus paquetes sin demoras, hemos decidido pagar los aranceles aduaneros en lugar de enviar el paquete sin pagarlos y dejar que sean nuestros clientes quienes se encarguen del pago.
Hasta ahora, casi todos nuestros envíos a EE. UU. han llegado a su destino dentro del plazo indicado al momento del envío. Los que no se encuentran en este grupo son, por supuesto, los que más nos preocupan. Cuando esto ha sucedido, hemos podido obtener y compartir información de seguimiento bastante detallada y actualizada sobre esos paquetes. Afortunadamente, nuestros clientes que han estado esperando los envíos que no se encuentran en este grupo han sido maravillosos y comprensivos, lo cual agradecemos enormemente y nos sentimos muy afortunados de tener clientes tan excelentes.
Con esto finalizamos esta actualización, que ha sido más larga de lo previsto, y volvemos a la importantísima y divertida lista de nuevos artículos de la tienda que esperamos que les resulten interesantes y atractivos.

A veces parece que lo único que ocurre en octubre es Halloween, sobre todo a juzgar por la cantidad de productos de supermercado que empiezan a llenarse de envases con motivos de calabazas, brujas o gatos negros a partir de mediados de agosto.
De hecho, octubre es un mes con muchas otras festividades, algunas internacionales y otras que se celebran en un solo país. Algunas de estas festividades están llenas de tradición, habiéndose celebrado durante muchos años, a veces cientos de años, mientras que las celebraciones asociadas a otras comenzaron hace tan solo unos años.

Para nuestra segunda tanda de novedades de 2025, hemos recorrido el mundo en busca de tesoros y delicias.
Desde Japón, encontramos las tazas de té Yunomi, un velero miniatura hecho de bambú.
Desde Rusia, tenemos un soporte para palillos de dientes con forma de muñeca rusa Matryoshka.
Encontramos arte en esteatita de Shona, procedente de Zimbabue.
La caja de alabastro antigua que encontramos procedía de la India.

Tenemos una figurita de garza de porcelana procedente de España.
La caja y el posavasos con incrustaciones de paja proceden de Europa del Este, al igual que la caja de baratijas de estilo chinoiserie azul y blanca.
Una caja de baratijas de porcelana rosa procedía de Estados Unidos y la URSS.
Un portavelas de cristal de plomo de Orrefors procedía de Suecia.
El frasco de rapé pintado por dentro tiene su origen en China.
Y procedentes del Reino Unido, encontramos un bolsillo de pared Art Déco y un marco de fotos en forma de corazón de Wedgwood Jasperware, una pieza muy rara.
También hemos abarcado cientos de años de motivos estilísticos, desde la placa de pared inspirada en el bronce hasta nuestra pieza más reciente de cristal de plomo, cuya última fabricación data de 2005.

Nuevos tesoros y nuevos lotes para el Año Nuevo
En el primer grupo de novedades para 2025, hemos encontrado tesoros que van desde cristal de Baccarat hasta una hucha con forma de osito de peluche, desde un par de jarrones raros de Wedgwood Countryware hasta cristal Carnival de amatista iridiscente.
Nos alegró descubrir que las cosas buenas vienen de dos en dos cuando encontramos dos jarrones grandes de trompeta de Wedgwood Countryware (White Cabbage Leaf), muy raros y hermosos. Estos jarrones rara vez se ven en sitios de reventa en línea o incluso en subastas, así que la oportunidad de ofrecer dos jarrones grandes de trompeta en excelente estado era algo que no podíamos dejar pasar.
El siguiente par perfecto que encontramos son unas espectaculares salinas de cristal azul cobalto de Baccarat, engastadas en latón dorado. Localizamos un par casi idéntico que se vendió en una subasta en Francia, lo que nos ayudó a confirmar el origen y el estilo de las salinas, además de fijar un precio que resultará atractivo para cualquiera que desee darle un toque radiante y elegante a su mesa en 2025.
También hemos encontrado porcelana austriaca, tinajas de agua españolas y los tarros de cerámica ingleses con tapa más tradicionales. Junto con una hucha de cerámica con forma de oso come miel, porcelana publicitaria de automóviles, un frasco de perfume art déco y cristal de carnaval brillante, encontrará lotes maravillosos para explorar durante las primeras semanas del nuevo año.

Mientras la mayoría de la gente pasaba su tiempo de compras en diciembre buscando regalos de Navidad y festivos, nosotros también tuvimos tiempo para encontrar algunos nuevos tesoros y hallazgos raros para nuestra tienda, que esperamos que le resulten atractivos y quizás irresistibles.
Nuestros nuevos hallazgos incluyen varias piezas de pirograbado en madera de Rusia y Europa del Este, que muestran la variedad de esta técnica de decoración. Otros tesoros de madera incluyen un precioso y excepcional porta relojes de bolsillo victoriano y una caja muy especial tallada en forma de calabaza.

¡Nos hemos ido a los perros... y a la jirafa!
En tres nuevos listados, tenemos 4 King Charles Spaniels de Staffordshire que tienen más de 120 años a partir de un único Spaniel blanco de Irlanda, pero todos ellos están en excelentes condiciones para que los disfrutes.
Además de nuestros spaniels británicos e irlandeses, también tenemos una jirafa rusa. Esta jirafa tan especial es una obra maestra del arte pop de los años 60, creada originalmente por V. Sergeev, maestro de la cerámica soviética, y fabricada por la Fábrica de Porcelana Kalinin.
Estos nuevos listados de animales se unen a nuestra colección existente de nuestro sello de vidrio, elefante juguetón, mariposa enmarcada, pavo real de latón, mono de latón, par de patos, par de huevos, elefantes de ébano, pato de madera tailandés y cachorro pintado con melaza.

Cajas, cajas, cajas… ¡y un cuenco!
Durante el último mes, aproximadamente, hemos recopilado todo tipo de cajas inusuales, interesantes, hermosas y únicas. Las hay de marquetería de paja, lacadas, de papel maché, de madera tallada, de mosaico de madera, con incrustaciones de madera, de espejo, de madera pintada, con incrustaciones de madera y latón, de porcelana y de madera torneada. Las hay con forma de huevo, cuadradas, circulares, rectangulares y de diamante.
En total, hay 24 cajas nuevas para que las explores y, con suerte, encuentres algo que te gustaría comprar para ti o como regalo para otra persona.
Pero no sólo hemos añadido cajas a nuestra tienda.
También se ha fabricado un increíble, raro y hermoso cuenco de gres Art Déco, fabricado por Royal Doulton en la década de 1930. Este cuenco presenta una banda verde y un interior excepcionales, uno de los pocos de su tipo que se han visto en el mercado actualmente o en los últimos años. Échale un vistazo, ya que podría no durar mucho.

Hemos ampliado nuestra colección de cerámica y porcelana con un impresionante número de casas de campo, posadas, graneros y edificios de gran valor para coleccionistas, procedentes de The Cottage Collection, colección que inició el estudio de cerámica Mudlen End en 1977.

Continuing with our Celebrate October theme, and relying on the "it's so bad it's good (we hope)" theory, our joint celebration is called October-BEST (so cringe worthy!) and it begins today.

Some Christmas preparations are appropriate and timely, but others are horrifying and wrong!
Two weeks ago, as I waited in line to pay at my local pound shop (Pound shops are surpassed as my favourite kind of retail shop only by the much loved and impossible to resist Chairty shops) I let out an involuntary gasp of shock, mixed with distress, when I spotted something truly horrifying; considering that at the time, it was the middle of September, long before Hallowe’en, Canadian Thanksgiving, Columbus Day, Diwali, American Thanksgiving and (literally) hundreds of other days of celebration for different countries, causes, groups of people, organisations and historic events The reason for my shock and distress was that my local pound shop had already set up a big colourful display of …… Christmas Crackers!!!!
While, as far as I know, I have never met anyone who, rather than responding as I did upon seeing the sparkly, glittery, gold and silver trimmed, mostly red and green crackers, with shock and horror that more than 3 months before they would be needed , there is enough demand that it is considered appropriate, even necessary to start selling Christmas Crackers, instead reacts to the same sight with a mixture of delight and relief and thinks to themselves “what a relief and just in time! I was getting worried that I was running short of time before I was able to buy my Christmas Crackers this year.” Clearly, there must be such people out there, as the store must be responding to customer demand for Christmas Crackers in mid-September.
It’s even possible that stores need to respond to already anxious customer enquiries about when will they finally be able to buy their Christmas Crackers this year – as time was running out!!
The one glorious note about the mid-September Christmas Cracker display was that that either intentionally, because it was so absurd, or as a result of the most wonderful accident, the large and impressive display of Christmas Crackers had been placed right beside an already existing, almost as large, and even more colourful display of novelty inflatable floats and lilos for swimming. This juxtaposition was made more wonderful as that day, when I got the first visual reminder that Christmas was on its way, it was an unseasonably warm 25 degrees day of brilliant sunshine, with the result that I was dressed in only shorts and a t-shirt. My extreme reaction when I spotted the Christmas Cracker display might have been due, at least in part, to the sweat that was dripping into my eyes and making my shirt stick to my back, as of course, my local pound shop does not have air conditioning.
While those Christmas Crackers were my first visual reminder that Christmas was coming – but still from a distance – I have already been thinking about Christmas for about a month,. While this has not resulted in getting out any decorations, I am already making preparations for Christmas, but not for me.
The preparations I have been making and will continue to make during this month and until Christmas are to make sure that I am finding and listing interesting, appealing and (hopefully) exactly what you hoped to find for the people on your gift list this Christmas.
We have been regularly adding to our shop and we hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the many new items we have listed in our shop over the last 4 or 5 weeks which have included new listings in all of our glass, porcelain, wood, and metal sections, These new listings have included a wonderful group of Chinese mudmen figurines, which we will be adding to in the coming weeks. We have added individual and colourful art glass items, as well as sets of glasses, including a great set of 4 French Christmas motif glasses. There are many new collectible boxes made from a variety of materials, as well as new bells of many sizes and shapes. We have listed great finds to be found by many different kinds of collectors who have collections to be added to. There are also unique and wonderful one-of-a-kind objects that we were delighted to find, and we hope you will enjoy the same “I’ve never seen one of those before, I wonder what it is” moments that we had on their discovery.
While some of those new unique objects, like the silver and shaped glass caviar dish, the carved wood elephants with ashtrays on their backs, the antique Scottish creamery pots and the antique jelly moulds may no longer be required for their original purpose, all of these items continue to be beautiful and useful for other, still special purposes and needs. Even the always popular and highly sought after Fortnum and Mason stilton jars, of which we have a good stock ready for you to enjoy, are unlikely to be used again for their original purpose.
Some of our new finds you won’t see, as they have been found as a result of a search we carried out to meet specific and special customer requests. The search for and finding of these items are some of the most rewarding finds we get to enjoy and we’re always happy to add to the list of special things we are searching for. So, if there is something special you are looking for but you don’t see in our shop, get in touch, and let us know what you’re looking for, and we can let you know whether we think we can help with your special search.
If you have the opposite experience and find many things in our shop, we also encourage you to get in touch with us, as we can usually offer special prices for the special groups of finds that you have found.
The final point of interest and information we want to share are the new customs and tariff rules for goods entering the US. These new rules came into effect at the end of August and there are 2 specific points we want you to be aware of if we will be sending something you’ve found in our shop to a destination in the US.
First, there is no longer a de minimis exemption, so customs and tariffs are now payable on all goods shipped into the US. Previously goods worth less than $800 were exempt from the payment of customs and tariffs when shipped into the US. With the end of this exemption, everything I send to our wonderful customers in the US is now subject to a customs rate of 10%.
We have made the decision to pay the 10% customs payable on all of the orders we send to the US, and it’s not just because we are wonderful (as we have been told we are, rather than reaching that conclusion ourselves) that we are doing so.
When the de minimis exemption was in place, 4 million shipments a day entered the US under that exemption. Now that the exemption has been ended, the 4 million shipments a day which previously didn’t need any kind of detailed processing and review, must now be individually processed before they can enter the US and continue their journey to their destination. The additional work that this has required of the already very busy US Customs Service is huge and extraordinary and it does mean that backlogs and delays which didn’t happen in the past are now being experienced as every shipment is reviewed for the customs amount that is now payable and in some cases the package delivery is held until the customs due is paid by the person receiving the delivery..
However, if the customs amount has already been paid when the package enters the US, the package does not enter the process of review and payment. Instead, it skips past the process where delays are occurring and continues on to its final destination without the need for that detailed review and then payment. To do whatever we can to get the package to our US customers without delays, we have decided to pay the customs payable, rather than send the package without customs paid and leave that to our customers to pay.
So far, almost all of our US deliveries have been getting to their destinations within the time range we are given at the time the package is sent. It’s the ones that aren’t in the “almost all” group that cause us the most concern of course. When this has happened, we have been able to get and pass along fairly detailed and up to date tracking information about those package. Our customers who have been waiting for the deliveries that aren’t in the “almost all” group have been wonderful and understanding fortunately, which we feel very grateful for and feel very lucky to have such great customers.
We will end this longer than expected update and get back to the very important and fun listing of new shop items that we hope will be interesting and appealing to you.

We're Celebrating October - and not just for Hallowe'en!
It sometimes seems like the only thing that happens in October is Hallowe’en – particularly judging by the number of grocery store items that start to become covered in pumpkin, witch or black cat packaging starting in Mid-August.
In fact, however, October is a month that has many other days of celebration, some of which are international, others are celebrated in only one country. Some of those days are full of tradition having been celebrated from many, sometimes hundreds of years, while the celebrations associated with other days began only a few years ago.

Are you as surprised as we are that August has arrived so quickly?
While summer, and 2025, maybe passing quickly, the good news is that there’s still more than 7 weeks’ left before summer ends, as summer will end on 22nd September this year – at 2:19 pm to be specific.
We wanted to be certain about the end date of summer as we want to make sure that our “2025 – Summer of Sales” continues until the very last minute of summer, so that all of you can enjoy the 25 – 33% off that will be in place throughout the summer.
We’ve also been listing some exciting and interesting new items over the past few weeks, and those new listings will also continue all summer. So far there have been beautiful and beautiful sounding bells of many shapes and sizes, rare and special porcelain and glass treasures and many wonderful examples of treen. So far during February, we have found weights to Wolfs, a handful of truly tiny treasures and a wide variety of other vintage virtuosities.
This month we have 4 new listings of always popular vintage cast iron weights, both imperial and metric, in round, square and hexagonal shapes.
We followed this with 5 new listings of classic Wolf (actually 4 Wolf and 1 BOMA) sculptures from Canada, including 2 iconic beaver figurines, a walrus, loon, and a playful pair of Inuit children.
Then things got tiny with new listings of 2 framed cameo size jasperware plaques, a Wade PC Plod figurine from the 1959-1961 Noddy series, an ornate miniature pewter egg that hides a pincushion inside, a little but very Royal Danish duck, a miniature Japanese pitcher, the smallest pair of newlyweds we’ve ever seen and the tiniest whale we bet any of us will ever get to see, and hold in the palm of our hand.
We’ve also listed 3 unique sets of candlesticks, some beautiful vintage ceramics, a very elegant desk barometer from one of London best retailers and a game of Beatrix Potter draughts that will take you back to your childhood – or as close as we can get.

We’ve Gone Around The World
For our second lot of new listings for 2025, we’ve gone around the world to find treasures and treats.
From Japan, we found Yunomi teacups, a miniature bamboo sailboat.
From Russia, we’ve got a Matryoshka Russian Doll Toothpick Holder.
We found Shona Soapstone Art from Zimbabwe.
India was the origin of the antique Alabaster Box we located.
France sent us a Limoges Cobalt Blue and 22K Gold trim vase.
We have a porcelain heron figurine from Spain.
The Straw Inlay Marquetry Box and Coaster set came from Eastern Europe as did the Blue and White Chinoiserie trinket box.
A pink Porcelain trinket box came from the USA and the USSR
An Orrefors lead crystal votive came from Sweden.
The inside painted snuff bottle originated in China .
And from the UK, we found an Art Deco Wall Pocket and a very rare Wedgwood Jasperware Heart Shaped Photo Frame.
We’ve also covered hundreds of years of style motifs from the Bronze inspired Wall Plaque to our most recent lead crystal piece which was last made in 2005.

We’re continuing our weekly sales during January and featuring different groups of items in our shop each week. If you have some favourites amongst the many treasures in the shop, we have some good news for you.
In our FAVOURITES25 Sale this week, the 35 items that have been marked as a “favourite” most often by visitors to our shop are on sale until Monday 27 January with a very tempting 25% off their regular ticket price.

New Treasures and New Lots for the New Year
In the first group of new listings for 2025, we have found treasures ranging from Baccarat Crystal to a Teddy Bear Money Box, from a pair of rare Wedgwood Countryware vases to iridescent amethyst Carnival Glass.
We were happy to find out that good things come in pairs when we found two very rare and very beautiful Wedgwood Countryware (White Cabbage Leaf) large trumpet vases. These vases are rarely seen on online resale sites or even at auction, so the chance to offer two large trumpet vases in excellent condition was a chance we were happy to take.
The next perfect pair we came upon are a spectacular pair of Baccarat cobalt blue crystal salterns that sit within golden brass mounts. We tracked down an almost identical pair that were sold at auction in France, that helped us confirm the origin and style of the salterns as well as setting a price that should be appealing to anyone looking to make their dining table radiant and royal for 2025.
We’ve also found Austrian porcelain, Spanish water vessels and the most traditional of English ceramic lidded jars. Along with a ceramic honey eating bear money box, automobile advertising porcelain, an art deco scent bottle and shimmering carnival glass, you’ll find wonderful lots to browse over in the early weeks of the new year.

While most people were spending their shopping time in December looking for Christmas and holiday presents, we managed to also make time to also find some new treasures and rare finds for our shop, that we hope you will find appealing, and perhaps irresistible!
Our new finds include a number of Russian and Eastern European wooden pyrography pieces, which show the range of this wood decorating technique. Other treen treasures include a very rare and beautiful Victorian pocket watch holder and a very special box carved in the shape of a pumpkin!
We also found some wonderful ceramic and porcelain pieces ranging in age from the 1860’s up to some more current Carlton Ware and including French earthenware and a very nostalgic stoneware bed warmer.
Our glass section has also had some very special additions which include a hand-blown clear glass heart shaped perfume bottle, a spectacular piece of rainbow carnival glass and a rare striking green Nazeing dish/vase that perfectly captures the style of the 1950s and 60s when these pieces were made.
Many of these pieces are currently being offered at 25% off their regular price as our shop is participating in the End of Year Sale that is in place Etsy-wide.

We’ve gone to the dogs – and to the giraffe!
In three new listings, we’ve got 4 King Charles Spaniels from Staffordshire who are more than 120 years old from a sole white Spaniel from Ireland, but all of them are in beautiful good condition for you to enjoy.
In addition to our British and Irish spaniels, we’ve also got a Russian Giraffe. This special giraffe is a pop art masterpiece from the ‘60’s, originally created by V. Sergeev, a master of Soviet ceramic art and made by The Kalinin Porcelain Factory.
These new animal listings join our existing menagerie of our Glass Seal, Playful Elephant, Framed Butterfly, Brass Peacock, Brass Monkey, Pair of Ducks, Pair of Eggs, Ebony Elephants, Thai Wooden Duck and Treacle Painted Puppy.
We’ll keep looking for and telling you about the new treats and treasures we find.

Boxes, boxes, boxes – and a bowl!
Over the past month or so, we have listed all kinds of unusual, interesting, beautiful, and unique boxes. There are straw marquetry, lacquer ware, paper mâché, carved wood, wood mosaic, inlayed wood, mirrored, painted wood, wood and brass inlay, porcelain, and turned wood boxes. There are egg shaped, square, circular, rectangular, and diamond shaped boxes.
In total there are 24 new boxes for you to browse through, and hopefully find something that you would like to get for yourself or as a gift for someone else.
But it’s not just been only boxes that we have added to our shop.
There has also been an incredible, rare, and beautiful Art Deco, stoneware bowl made by Royal Doulton in the 1930’s. The bowl features a very rare green band and inside bowl, which is one of the only of its type seen on the market currently or in the past few years. Take a look as it may not last long.
In addition to the boxes and the bowl, we have also listed some beautiful and unique glass, wood, brass, and ceramic pieces – and there’s even a butterfly!

Lots of New Listings and a New Sale
Over the past week, we have listed a treasure trove of new listings, including a new collection of Russian Folk Art Khokhloma painted wooden dishes and other wooden items, some of them over 100 years old.
We have listed some wonderful additions to our Wedgwood Jasperware section, including 2 sets of beautiful trumpet vases
Other great new listings include a pair of Asian Painted Hens Eggs, a Handblown Amber Glass Spanish Porron, a vintage Brass Mayil Vilakku or Peacock Lamp and a beautiful framed Pearl Emperor Butterfly.
Finally, look for some great additions to our Treen section and the many new vintage vases, in a rainbow selection of colours.
We are also launching the second of our Elements Sales, following our first Elements Sale on our collection of Vintage glass and crystal listings. Our shop is having a great month!
In addition to the 30% off our entire glass and crystal collection our customers will enjoy with our first Elements Sale, this week we have added some wonderful and very special items to some of the shop’s other great collections.
We have added to the Pottery, Ceramic and Porcelain collection with an impressive number of highly collectable cottage, inns, barns, and buildings from The Cottage Collection which was started by the Mudlen End Pottery Studio in 1977.
We have also added to that collection with two great classics; The Sadler Pottery “Caribbean Man” Sugar Canister, from the 1950’s; and 2 stunning white cabbage leaf large Majolica salad/serving bowls from Olfaire in Portugal.
Finally, a Charmouth Studio beehive shaped lidded honey pot is the final stunning addition to the PCP collection.
We have found two rare and very special addition to the shop’s Papier Mache Collection.
The Edwardian period Qajar dynasty hand painted Qalamdan is very special and very rare, as is the Pumpkin shaped round lidded black, teal, and gold box.
