The Journey So Far
Our story began in 1945 in the narrow bylanes of Fort, Mumbai, where my grandfather started a small bookbinding business. He didn’t just work with paper. He worked with purpose. Every spine he stitched and every sheet he pressed carried a simple belief: a well-made product will always find its place. That belief became the foundation of our family legacy.
As the city changed in the 1980s, so did we. The textile mills gave way to high-rises, and Mumbai began to move faster. Instead of resisting the shift, we embraced it. Using the same understanding of materials, structure, and hand craftsmanship, the business gradually transitioned from working with paper to crafting leather goods. People still valued items that were personal, enduring, and made with care. We expanded our workshop, added a few machines, and brought in new artisans, but our focus on hand-finishing and quality never changed.
In 2018, I stepped fully into the business. The world had become increasingly digital, and leather goods were being mass-produced in distant factories. We chose a different path. We held on to what mattered most: the values passed down from my grandfather to my father and now to me. We launched a website to share our story and connect with a wider audience, while continuing to create by hand in our Mumbai workshop.
Today, that workshop remains the heart of our brand. The scent of leather still fills the air. The sound of tools and the quiet rhythm of skilled hands at work continue. Many of our artisans have been with us since my father's time. Each product we make is carefully crafted, hand-finished, and passed through multiple hands before it leaves our table.
Some things naturally evolve over time. But the core of what we do heritage, skill, and patience - remains unchanged. And we believe it always should.
