Per me, fatto a mano significa design organico ispirato e radicato nella natura - modelli dipinti a mano, in crescita e in evoluzione, a volte accidentali e congelati nel tempo. Mi ispiro a come la luce illumina e crea infinite tonalità, in seta iridescente o vetro. I colori creano stati d'animo e le loro combinazioni raccontano storie.
Formatomi come pittore alla RISD, mi sono trasferito a San Francisco come giovane artista e ho scoperto che vendere artigianato che facevo alle fiere di strada era un modo incredibilmente divertente per pagare l'affitto. Le mie creazioni sono state raccolte da boutique e gallerie, ora in espansione a livello nazionale. For me, handmade means organic design inspired by and rooted in nature — hand-painted patterns, growing and evolving, sometimes accidental and frozen in time. I am inspired by how light illuminates and creates infinite hues, in iridescent silk or glass. Colors create moods and their combinations tell stories.
Trained as a painter at RISD, I moved to San Francisco as a young artist and found selling crafts I made at street fairs to be an incredibly fun way to pay the rent. My creations were picked up by boutiques and galleries, now expanding nationwide. There you can actually touch the silk velvet, and feel it's softness against your skin.
My studio is built in the home, outside Boston, I share with my husband and two young children, who sometimes sit beside me and make their own creations while I am painting scarves.
